Wisconsin Nutrition Education Program in IOWA COUNTY is part of the UW-Extension Cooperative Extension office.
The Nutrition Education's mission and purpose:
- Participants will choose and prepare nutritious meals and snacks.
- Participants will manage their food resources, use thrifty shopping practices for nutritious foods, and use community programs and resources to improve their food security.
- Participants will use safe food handling, preparation, and storage practices.
- WNEP will work in collaboration partners to enhance local systems or environments that enable and facilitate the availability of nutritious diets to food stamp households and build support for community-based nutrition education programs fro the food stamp-eligible population.
The Iowa County Nutrition Educators are vendors at the Market one Saturday per month from late June through early September. We provide food samples with the recipe using the fresh vegetables and fruits available at the Market.
