Chicken and Cheese

We started out several years ago raising a few meat chickens on our family dairy farm for family and neighbors. Our “hobby” has now grown into raising several hundred birds a year for our local market, restaurants and customers. In addition, we are part of a meat CSA serving local customers and Madison and Milwaukee consumers.

We purchase day-old Cornish-Cross meat type chicks from a hatchery which are delivered via parcel post to our farm. The chickens are raised for five to eight weeks reaching meat weights from five to eight pounds depending on what is needed for our orders. Feed is purchased from a local feed mill where it is mixed and bagged. The chickens are processed at a federal inspected processing plant, Twin Cities Pack, in Clinton, WI. We have various packages available – whole; halves; leg and thigh; and breast.

We also sell many varieties of cheese for two local cheese factories — Hooks Cheese, Mineral Point, and Brunkow Cheese, Fayette — at the Mineral Point Market.

We offer home delivery or pick-up of the products during the off-season. Use the contact information below if you are interested.
