Open Saturday, Oct. 11th, 8:30-11 am in Water Tower Park

Hello MP Market Goers!

Wrap Yourself in Warmth (and Handmade Love) 🍂

As the temperatures dip and fall settles in, there’s something especially comforting about wrapping yourself in the warmth of something handmade. Few capture that feeling better than Love and Hugs from Lauri, whose crocheted afghans, shawls, and hats are stitched with both skill and heart.

Lauri’s craft is more than just yarn and pattern—it’s a labor of love that turns simple threads into keepsakes. Whether you’re looking to cozy up your home or start gathering thoughtful gifts for the holiday season, her colorful blankets and soft accessories make every stitch feel like a hug.

Each piece is one of a kind, blending warmth, texture, and the timeless art of crochet. Stop by her booth this Saturday and find that perfect something—for yourself or someone special.

And speaking of special, we’ve got a sweet bonus this week—Sugarface Donuts is back! Grab a warm bag of cinnamon sugar donuts or a “boat” with chocolate or strawberry dipping icing while you shop.

There are just three markets remaining this season, so come soak in the crisp fall air, browse your favorite booths, and celebrate the creativity and community that make Mineral Point Market so special. 💛

See you at the market!

Aaron’s Peppers
Weather (which in human history, so far at least) is beyond our control.
To flourish, peppers need at least 6 hours of direct/full sun each day. (Cloudy, rainy, foggy, wildfire-smoky, and SHORT days are not a pepper’s “friend.”)
But even with less than 3 hours per day of direct/full sun, now that it’s October, they continue to ripen and should be available ‘til the end of Market season – October 25.
Stop by for “Something you have never tried before” – the fiery red Brazilian Starfish pepper.

Barham Gardens
We will be at market this week, weather permitting. We should have Aronia Rhubarb jam and Aronia Applesauce. There is a possibility we will have some Aronia Pepper Jam (which always receives rave reviews). We will also have handwoven rugs as well as sheepskin mats/rugs. We look forward to seeing you Saturday!

They will be there with all your favorites: scones, muffins, dessert bars and treats, sweet rolls, and maybe a couple extra treats. What exactly will the flavors be? Undecided… but sure to be good! The girls will be glad to see all of you! And I’ll see you all again next weekend! (Bonus points for anyone who asks Sam and Carly who has the cuter goats, as both of their mama goats have had their babies…)

Due to some health issues, we will not be returning to the market this year. We will be okay and plan on returning to the market next year! Until we return, you can find our candles (and some great ice cream) at Sweet Life Ice Cream Parlor. We do not have our soaps in any shops. If you would like a special order of soaps or candles, please email us at mckennaluepker@gmail.com.

Well, it sure feels like Fall now! I love the cooler weather, but there is still plenty to do to keep busy on the farm and to get everything prepared for the winter months ahead. I have been busy feeding my bees and treating mites to make sure they are healthy and have the resources they need to get through the winter. Next on the list will be to insulate the hives to help keep them warm. I’m really looking forward to getting this done so I might have some time to relax! That is one thing I love about Saturday mornings at the Market. It’s a lot of work to prepare for the Market, but once I’m there, it’s a few hours of relaxing, sitting in the sun and talking to people. I will be at the Market this week with lots of honey and our farm fresh, pasture raised chicken and duck eggs. If you need honey or eggs and you can’t make it to the Market on Saturday, feel free to reach out, to arrange pick up or delivery. We also have a self service stand at the farm, stocked with honey and chicken eggs. Hope to see you Saturday!
Thanks,
Mike

Rural Roots
Thank you for a wonderful market season! 💐 We won’t be at any more markets this year as the flowers slow down and our fall weekends get busy with other responsibilities. For now, we’re soaking up the final blooms before the cooler temperatures arrive and leaving the flowers for the pollinators to enjoy too. 🌼 🐝 As one season winds down, we’re already busy preparing flower beds and planting bulbs for even more blooms to share next year! Follow along with us on our Facebook page to see what’s happening this fall to prepare for more flowers next spring! 🌱✨🌸

Shooting Star Farm
I escaped frost in my fields this week, but there were some crunchy patches on the low-lying north slopes. Feels strange after so many weeks of 80-90 degree temps. I, for one, am glad for a bit of fall weather! There’s still lots to harvest, and my table will be filled with good things to eat. I will have red leaf and green butter lettuces along with some mixed mini heads, gorgeous red bell peppers, red and orange Italian frying peppers, sweet green peppers, mini snacking peppers, poblano, shishito, and jalapeno peppers, large bulk beets, red and French breakfast radishes, salad turnips, yellow onions, shallots, leeks, salad mix, arugula, Swiss chard, curly kale, lacinato kale, green cabbage, a bit of cauliflower, possibly some fennel, lots of winter squash (kabocha, delicata, butternut, honeynut, and Autumn Frost varieties), a selection of herbs, and a few tomatoes (mostly romas). See you Saturday!

Sugarface Donuts
Come and see Sugarface Donuts this Saturday! Share a bag of our classic, warm cinnamon sugar donuts or a boat of plain donuts with chocolate or strawberry icing dippers.
We’re excited to share our love of donuts with the Mineral Point community! Stop by, grab a bag of donuts and say hello!
