Hello MP Market Goers!
🍂 This Week at Market: Celebrating Traditions Old & New
It’s Cornish Fest weekend in Mineral Point—a time to honor heritage, culture, and community. Just like Cornish Fest celebrates the traditions that shaped our town, our market vendors bring their own legacies to life each Saturday.
This week, we’re shining a spotlight on Renewed Traditions, a vendor whose work is deeply rooted in both the past and present.
🧶 Renewed Traditions
What began as Rugs by Roberta has blossomed into Renewed Traditions, a beautiful collection of fiber arts crafted right here in the Driftless Region. Using wool and natural materials from nearby farms, Roberta weaves the rhythms of the land into handwoven rugs, felted bowls, cozy hats, wrist warmers, and more.
Each piece honors heritage while breathing new life into it—just like the spirit of Cornish Fest. Her creations are not only useful and eco-friendly but also full of warmth and story, carrying forward the timeless art of creating by hand.
🎉 Celebrate Cornish Fest + the Market
While you’re in town enjoying the pasties, music, and traditions of Cornish Fest, don’t forget to stop by the Mineral Point Market on Saturday morning (8:30–11:00am). Fill your basket with fresh, local goods, and take home a piece of handcrafted Driftless heritage from Renewed Traditions.
Because whether it’s food, fiber, or friendship, the heart of Mineral Point is all about celebrating the old while embracing the new. 💛
See you at the market!

Aaron’s Peppers
Intriguing. Have been too busy watching the Brazilian Starfish peppers turn color, missed their change in “position.”
The last week of July, the description was: green and tiny, teetering on the tip of a very slender branch, looking like a flattened 7-ribbed pumpkin.
Late August: “Now that the fruit is larger, it’s best described as pendent (leaning over).”
Currently – the ripe, fiery red pepper has righted itself.
Unreal.
The 1st fall frost date is looming.
A chart posted on the refrigerator shows a 90% chance of the temperature dipping to 32 o by October 13. So will do everything possible to prolong the HOT pepper growing season.
Then the task this year will be to prepare the plants for overwintering . The Brazilian Starfish seeds were planted January 2 and took ‘til September 10 for even one fruit to achieve its full, fiery red ripe stage.
The hope is to give this perennial a jump start on the 2026 growing season. Time will tell. . . .

Calaur Farm
This looks to be the last Summer BBQ weekend coming up! We are thinking some fresh salad, nicely seared steaks, crusty bread, and why not make your own garlic butter: Calaur Farm’s Georgian Crystal will give you a crisp and clean garlic flavor, while Chesnok Red will set you off with a spicy kick. Experiment with different spices, smoked paprika might just be the perfect match. We look forward to seeing you Saturday!

Just Poured Candle Co.
Hi, I’m Holly Adams, founder of Just Poured Candle Co.
I started this small business in 2022 with the support of my amazing family and my husband David, a proud Mineral Point native. Why candles? Because I’ve always loved making things—and I especially love the warmth and comfort that candles bring into a space.
My mission is simple:
To create hand-crafted, non-toxic candles that inspire and add cozy charm to any room. Every candle is made with 100% soy wax sourced from soybeans grown in the United States. I never use dyes or additives, and I carefully select high-quality fragrance oils that are free from parabens and phthalates.
My Fall Collection features a variety of sizes in these seasonal scents:
Apple Maple Bourbon
Pumpkin Chai
Apple Cinnamon
Apple Cider Donut
Flannel
Cozy in Wisconsin
Cranberry Woods
White Birch
Spiced Chestnut
Leaves
Wisconsin Old Fashioned
Rosemary & Sage
Frosted Juniper
Christmas Cabin
Fraser Fir
In addition to candles, I also craft natural products like room fragrance/body sprays and beeswax lip balm—each made with the same care and commitment to clean ingredients.
See you Saturday, Sept. 27th!

👋 Hi Mineral Point Market friends!
Rockin’ Highlands Farm has what’s needed this Saturday!
Whether planning a late summer BBQ or stocking up for delicious meals, the perfect cuts are available. Come and chat with us about what makes Rockin’ Highlands Farm’s Scottish Highland beef special.
Here’s a bonus:
Want to try the incredible Reverse Sear method?
Low & Slow: Season steak and place it on a rack in a 250°F oven. Cook until the desired internal temperature is reached (around 115°F for medium-rare).
Rest: Remove the steak and let it rest for 10-15 minutes.
Sear: While resting, heat a cast iron skillet or grill to high heat. Add a high-heat oil (like avocado oil) and sear for 1-2 minutes per side until a crust forms.
Enjoy! Slice and enjoy a perfectly cooked, juicy steak!
See you Saturday!
