Hello MP Market Goers!
Wow, it’s a big weekend in Mineral Point! High School graduation is set for Friday evening. Congrats to all the grads out there and their families!
To add to the festivities it’s Memorial Day Weekend! Flags will be flying to help us honor those who’ve been lost (if you have time to help out – Veterans are putting up the Avenue of flags Thursday at 5:30. Help is needed in all 3 cemeteries. Just show up and lend a hand) There’s also the parade in town, which is on Shake Rag this year and starts at 10:30 am and heads down towards the tennis courts.
But between all these celebrations the Mineral Point Market is in Water Tower Park Saturday morning from 8:30-11a and there’s loads happening this week in the park!
There will be music!🎵
The Library will also be there with books, audio books, $1 books, and more.📚
Plus, we’ve got an exchange student and her host family making Belgian Waffles and Crepes!🧇
However, we’re still the market you can count on to have you covered. Our vendors will have what you need to celebrate this weekend. Whether you’re firing up the grill or heading to some grad parties we’ve got the food and the gifts you need to make that happen. 🍔🎁

Welcome to Water Tower Park! We have something new for you this year. Wayne was an art teacher for 33 years and has decided to go back to his roots of drawing. He has taken up watercolor pencils and some great outdoor subjects to sketch. Also new this year are engraved tumblers and mugs. Many will be engraved with general titles and logos, while others will be waiting for your personal requests. They come in six different colors for you to choose from. Cheese boards will be available with some engraved and some waiting for your personal requests. We look forward to a great spring, summer, fall in the park and seeing many familiar faces.

The weatherman says the weekend will be good for graduations and many special get togethers. And all of us at the market are looking forward to a nice weekend too. Fire up the grill as we will have a full supply of chicken products – whole chickens, half chicken packages, leg/thigh packages and breast packages. Also chicken livers and heart packages. Many varieties of well known Hooks cheese will be on hand (sorry, no 20 year!). The egg laying hens are aware market time is here so will have several dozen eggs available. My name is Holly Adams, and I created Just Poured Candle Co. in 2022 with the support of my family and husband David, a Mineral Point native. Why? Well, I love candles and I love to make things. As a full-time caregiver for my husband, who suffered a C4 spinal cord injury and stroke in 2016, I found candle making as a creative outlet to help relieve everyday stress and fulfill a passion.
My mission is simple. Provide hand-crafted, non-toxic candles that add warmth and inspiration to any room. All my candles are made from 100% soy wax, from soybeans grown in the United States. I also do not use any dyes or additives, and only high-quality fragrance oils that do not contain parabens or phthalates. In addition to making candles, I make several other all natural products as well. Some of my other products include room sprays, bug & tick repellent, and lip balm.

It was nice to take last weekend off to enjoy the beautiful weather with my family, and this weekend is looking just as nice! I am planning on being at the market this weekend with my homemade maple syrup and photo greeting cards. My syrup is made from tapping trees on our farm, and boiling on a wood fired stove that I built. My photo greeting cards are blank inside and are perfect for any occasion. I’m looking forward to seeing you under the water tower on Saturday!

Marr’s Valley View Farms
It’s Memorial Day weekend, graduation weekend and the unofficial beginning of Summer! Many of us will remember and honor family and friends who died while serving in the U.S. military. Volunteers will place American flags on the graves of military personnel and throughout cemeteries across the country. Family and friends will gather for cookouts and parties to celebrate the new graduates of the class of 2023.
Marr’s Valley View Farms will be at the Market this week with our full line of Beef and Pork products including everything you need for your holiday weekend events including Brats, Hamburger (bulk & patties) Pulled Pork, BBQ Pulled Pork, Shredded Roast Beef.
We highly recommend placing your pre-order online by 6 p.m. Friday for pickup at the Market. We’ll have your order ready and waiting for you, no waiting in line.

We are excited to come to the Mineral Point Market. We are planning on coming to the market every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month, if the weather cooperates. We will bring materials for checkout including books, audio books, dvds, magazines, preschool kits and other items for checkout. We will also provide book request pickups and also accept material returns. Each week we will also bring a few used books for sale for $1.00 each. Stop by and say hello.

Shooting Star Farm
Looks to be another nice day for the Mineral Point Market, and a great way to start out your holiday weekend. I have two new items from the hoophouse this week: red bunched beets and juicy kohlrabi with big, beautiful tops (you can cook them, you know!). Along with these crunchy goodies I’ll have red radishes, salad turnips, Swiss chard, green garlic, salad mix, baby arugula, mini lettuce heads, big heads lettuce (butter and oak leaf varieties), a bit of rhubarb, and possibly some spinach if it grows in time. It’s the last week for transplants. I’m sold out of several varieties, but still have a few heirloom tomatoes as well as some roma, red, and cherry varieties, a few types of sweet peppers, and basil plants.
