Hello MP Market Goers!
Sometimes market life takes us a little farther than the fields and booths of Saturday morning. Wednesday, I headed down to Monroe to deliver 240 pounds of asparagus to be turned into soup — which honestly feels pretty amazing all by itself. 🌱
But somewhere between Blanchardville and Argyle, I found myself once again wanting to reach for my camera instead of just watching the road.

First sighting: a mama deer and her tiny spotted baby standing quietly along the edge of a field. 💛 (photo from previous trip)
Second sighting: right in downtown Argyle — Becky and Carly from Farmer’s Daughter Bakery & Kitchen tooling down the road on their tractor like it was the most normal thing in the world. 🚜😂 Becky says “Dropped Carly off at school, went to the station for fuel, went back and raked hay! It’s the highlight of Carly’s week if I buzz down the hill to pick her up.” 😍
Two farmers out in the WILD in one day!

It got me thinking about how lucky we are to live where we do. The drive down Highway 78 and along 81 is absolutely stunning this time of year. Rolling ridges, green valleys, winding roads, and wildlife around every corner. I’ve spotted deer, hawks, eagles, turtles, and views that seem to stretch forever.
Wisconsin really is beautiful. 🌿
And while our vendors spend plenty of time growing, baking, harvesting, and creating for market, they’re also deeply rooted in the landscapes that make this area so special.

So if you find yourself with a little extra time this weekend, maybe take the scenic route somewhere. Roll the windows down. Notice the fields. Wave at a tractor. You never know what you’ll spot out in the wild. 😉 You might even spot a friend from market????
And of course, if your travels happen to bring you through Water Tower Park on Saturday morning, we’d love to see you at market.

But I digress. We are so proud of her!

Muffins: banana chocolate chip, lemon blueberry, caramel latte.
Bars and Treats: lemon bars, S’mores, Carmelitas, raspberry brownies, cherry coffeecake, cranberry walnut.

Shooting Star Farm
It’s hard to believe I was harvesting in a down vest and hat less than a week ago. No time to adjust to a 40 degree increase in temps. Looks like summer is here! I’ve been busy transplanting, hoeing, watering (lots of watering) and harvesting. The planned harvest for this weekend will include bunched beets, kohlrabi, red radishes, lettuce heads (gorgeous romaine, red leaf, butter, and mini heads), arugula, salad mix, kale, swiss chard, and the last of the green garlic. Saturday weather is looking great. See you then!
Sugarface Donuts
We’ll be back for Father’s Day weekend on June 20th.

WWB Studio
Wayne Banaszak taught drawing and painting and graphic design to students grade one through adults in the public schools for over thirty years. He is now sharing his artistic talents through his original watercolor pencil drawings of rural scenes from the Driftless Area of Wisconsin as well as various other subjects that complement his style of drawing. Many of the original drawings have been turned into note cards which he markets locally. New to his note card collection is a line of interesting sayings and words of wisdom. All of these will be on display at the market. It is his intention to attend all Saturday markets weather permitting. Rain and paper do not get along, so he will not be in attendance on rainy, humid days.
We look forward to seeing you Saturday in Water Tower Park, Business Hwy 151 at Madison Street, Mineral Point! 8:30 to 11:00 a.m.
