Open Saturday, June 13th, 8:30-11a in Water Tower Park

Hello MP Market Goers!

Have you noticed it yet? Summer is beginning to settle in around us.

The gardens are growing. Community calendars are filling up. Father’s Day is just around the corner. Before long, there will be cookouts, family gatherings, vacations, and all the wonderful activities that make summer in Wisconsin so special.

And for many of us, summer weekends start with a Saturday morning at the market.

It’s a chance to slow down before the weekend gets busy. To catch up with neighbors. To fill a basket with fresh food. To admire a bouquet of flowers. To enjoy a cup of coffee while wandering through the park.

This week marks another sign that summer has arrived: our first musician of the season will be performing at market! 🎶

There’s just something about live music drifting through the park that makes a Saturday morning feel complete.

We’re also hoping to welcome even more musicians throughout the season. If you, or someone you know, enjoy performing in a relaxed, community atmosphere, we’d love to hear it. The market is a wonderful place for musicians to share their talents and connect with the community. To help get you started, we offer a $20 stipend to support your time at market — think of it as a little boost to your busking earnings.
👉Follow the link to sign up. We can’t wait to hear you perform!

Of course, you’ll also find all the fresh foods and local goods you’ve come to expect, including seasonal produce, baked treats, flowers, meats, eggs, cheese, honey, and handcrafted items from our talented vendors.

So before the summer calendar fills completely, make a little room for the market.

We think it’s one of the best ways to start your summer weekends!

You won’t find us at market this week…

So instead of finding us at market, come visit us in the strawberry field and pick your own!
We’ll be busy making memories, answering berry questions, and trying not to eat too many strawberries ourselves. 🍓💛

Our Homestead formerly Magic Light Photography
It’s been another busy week on the farm, with no end in sight. I was able to pull some honey off of a couple hives early this week, and hoping to get some more later this week. Between work and the weather it’s hard to find enough time to get everything done! If everything falls into place, I hope to have more honey for this weekend, but no promises.
I will have the remainder of last year’s honey in 1/2 pound jars as well as fresh, pasture raised, chicken and duck eggs. Hope to see you Saturday! If you can’t make it to the Market, or can’t wait until Saturday, please reach out and we can arrange a time to pick up eggs or honey at the farm.
Thanks,
Mike

Shooting Star Farm
Hard to believe we’ve made it to mid-June. We got the rain I was hoping for and much more. It may put me a bit behind on some succession plantings, but we can worry about that later. Right now I have a nice list of items for Saturday: bunched carrots, beets, radishes (most likely), salad turnips, some early cauliflower, romaine lettuce, butter lettuce, mini lettuce heads, cilantro, dill, curly kale, lacinato kale, Swiss chard, kohlrabi, and salad mix. I think that’s it. No arugula this week, but more next. Should be a beautiful Market day. See you then!

Sugarface Donuts
We’ll be back in July.

WWB Studio
Wayne Banaszak taught drawing and painting and graphic design to students grade one through adults in the public schools for over thirty years. He is now sharing his artistic talents through his original watercolor pencil drawings of rural scenes from the Driftless Area of Wisconsin as well as various other subjects that complement his style of drawing. Many of the original drawings have been turned into note cards which he markets locally. New to his note card collection is a line of interesting sayings and words of wisdom. All of these will be on display at the market. It is his intention to attend all Saturday markets weather permitting. Rain and paper do not get along, so he will not be in attendance on rainy, humid days.

We look forward to seeing you Saturday in Water Tower Park, Business Hwy 151 at Madison Street, Mineral Point! 8:30 to 11:00 a.m.
