Open Saturday, Oct. 18th, 8:30-11am in Water Tower Park

Scroll down for a complete list of who will be vending this week.

Hello MP Market Goers!

Can you believe it? There are just two Saturdays remaining in this year’s Mineral Point Market season! 🍂

We know there’s a lot happening around town this time of year — fall art tour, games, and family activities galore — but before you head off to your weekend plans, make sure to stop by the market. Your favorite vendors are still here, filling the park with fresh produce, warm breads, local honey, eggs, meats, baked goods, and handmade treasures.

However, some vendors are wrapping up their season so this may be your last chance to stock up on your favorites before they’re gone for the year.

Whether you’re planning a cozy fall meal, need a gift for a friend, or simply want to soak in a beautiful morning in the park — the Mineral Point Market is the perfect start to your Saturday. 💛

See you at the market!

Aaron’s Peppers
Fall is an interesting time. Peppers are still ripening and TYPICALLY the temperature is steadily cooling each
day. However, daytime temperatures have been as much as 20o above normal this year which has extended the growing season.
Ideal day temperatures for peppers: 71 to 80 F. While best night temperatures are 60 to 70 F.
While they can tolerate slightly colder temperatures at night than during the day, a temperature below 55 o will slow down the growth of mature pepper plants. So at night recently, have been covering the plants with old bed sheets and pillow cases. (Our neighborhood children must think we’re decorating for Halloween early.) And in the morning once a “safe” temperature has been reached, the coverings are removed.
Feel free to stop by with HOT pepper questions.
Would be happy to “send you home” with information – in
print – which will help as you explore the Brazilian Starfish pepper’s heat profile, taste, and texture. As well as ideas on how to use this rare pepper or preserve it, if you choose.

We will be at market this week, weather permitting. We should have Aronia Rhubarb jam and Aronia Applesauce. There is a possibility we will have some Aronia Pepper Jam (which always receives rave reviews). We will also have handwoven rugs as well as sheepskin mats/rugs. We look forward to seeing you Saturday!

Due to some health issues, we will not be returning to the market this year. We will be okay and plan on returning to the market next year! We really enjoyed our experience at the Mineral Point Market. We loved getting to be part of the community and getting to share our candles and soaps with everyone. Until we return, you can find our candles (and some great ice cream) at Sweet Life Ice Cream Parlor. We do not have our soaps in any shops. If you would like a special order of soaps or candles, please email us at mckennaluepker@gmail.com.

Can you believe there are only 2 Markets left? Where has the season gone? I’ll be back again this weekend with lots of fresh, raw honey from my hives, as well as our pasture raised chicken and duck eggs. So far, farm sales have been slow this week, so hopefully I will be well stocked with eggs on Saturday morning. If you can’t wait till Saturday, please feel free to reach out to me, or stop by our self service roadside stand! Hope to see you Saturday morning.
Thanks,
Mike

Rural Roots
Thank you for a wonderful market season! 💐 We won’t be at any more markets this year as the flowers slow down and our fall weekends get busy with other responsibilities. For now, we’re soaking up the final blooms before the cooler temperatures arrive and leaving the flowers for the pollinators to enjoy too. 🌼 🐝 As one season winds down, we’re already busy preparing flower beds and planting bulbs for even more blooms to share next year! Follow along with us on our Facebook page to see what’s happening this fall to prepare for more flowers next spring! 🌱✨🌸

Shooting Star Farm
We’re down to two more farmers’ markets I’m planning to be at both (providing there’s no driving sleet. Actually, I’d probably still be there). A killing frost still hasn’t reached the fields, so the variety for this time of year is unusual. I’ll have lots of freshly picked green, orange, red, and yellow sweet peppers, colorful snacking peppers, poblanos, jalapenos, green cabbage, kale, Swiss chard, lettuces, a few herbs, leeks, beets, salad turnips, radishes, kohlrabi (giant and regular), roma tomatoes, carrots, onions, shallots, garlic, five types of winter squash (including honey nut), and a small amount of salad mix. The hot temps in September and early October caused my salad greens to mature more than two weeks ahead of schedule, which means they are coming to an early end. I’ll get what I can. It’s going to be a wonderfully fun weekend, so get to Market early. See you Saturday!

Sunny Side Down
🚨🚨Last market of the season for us! We are bringing all your favorite artisan breads, locally famous cookies, fresh pies, donuts, and more!
Wondering how to get our products once the market season is over? We deliver every Saturday, all winter long! FREE DELIVERY – bookmark our website at ssdfarm.com

We look forward to seeing you this Saturday in Water Tower Park, Business Hwy 151 at Madison Street, Mineral Point! 8:30 to 11:00 a.m.
