Open Saturday, July 20th, 8:30-11am in Water Tower Park

Hello MP Market Goers!

We’re celebrating the artisans behind the delectable goodies that make our market a haven for foodies. This week, we shine a spotlight on our talented small batch bakers who pour their passion into every batch, creating breads and treats that are as delightful as they are delicious.

Meet Our Featured Bakers:

🥧🍞 Farmer’s Daughter Bakery & Kitchen: Becky Kammes and her girls have been with the market for MANY years now. While living on their farm in Argyle, Becky bakes up a storm each week for us. Making the most delicious scones (so moist), dessert bars (always a huge selection), pies (might want to pre-order these), muffins (several favorites), sweet rolls (just 😋), and breads (have you tried the babka?). You don’t want to miss her table under the pavilion!

🥖🍪🍩🥧 Sunny Side Down: Sisters, Mandy & Amber, are about details. Details that matter. Details that create an experience. An experience that takes you back to a simpler time, but still feels relevant. With all of their skills, they work together to bring local, handmade products to your table. This week they have some brand new flavors to try! 2 new cookie flavors as well as a new sourdough bread! They also offer: Pies, donuts, Jams, Sauces, Salsas, Pickles, and Curries. Check them out this week under their yellow tent!

🥖🥐🍪☕ Cafe 43: Located along the sidewalk, just down from Shooting Star Farm. Molly and staff bake delicious sour dough breads, Nordstrom cookies (so, so good!), and the flakiest, most tender croissants! Each week they bring these delicious treats as well as fresh, hot coffee and breakfast burritos that are sure to satisfy.

Why Small Batch Bakers?

At our market, we believe in supporting local talent and celebrating craftsmanship. Small batch bakers bring a unique touch to every creation, focusing on quality over quantity and infusing each treat with love and care. When you choose their goodies, you’re not just enjoying food—you’re supporting a community of passionate individuals who make our culinary landscape richer.

Visit Us and Indulge:

We’re back again this Saturday!
8-Generations Strong! Driftless Farms LLC is a local, family-owned business specializing in the production of 100% pure, certified organic maple syrup known as Driftless Gold. From sap collection to syrup production to marketing and distribution, family members are directly involved in every step of the process. Our goal is to deliver reliably high-quality syrup to our customers while enhancing and deepening our children’s connection to our 8‑generation family farm in the heart of the Driftless Region. Our family actively manages for a diverse and healthy forest community. At Driftless Farms, we are proud to continue the legacy of land stewardship passed down by our pioneering ancestors.
Our Grade A certified organic maple syrup is available in three grades: Amber Rich, Dark Robust, and Very Dark Strong. Richly flavored Amber Rich offers a sweet, rich taste and serves well as a delectable topping; think oatmeal, Greek yogurt, and ice cream. Dark Robust is known for its full-bodied flavor. This flavorsome favorite is lovely on pancakes, in coffee as a sweetener, and is fantastic as a glaze. Let’s not forget our Very Dark Strong option. This product boasts being the strongest of the maple flavors; a shining favorite when used as an ingredient in baked goods, granola, and so much more. Here at Driftless Farm we believe our customers should be able to consistently choose their favorite of the flavors.

The forecast is looking perfect for the market this weekend! I am planning on being at the market with our farm fresh chicken and duck eggs as well as our upcycled feed bag market totes! Our hens have slowed down a bit, and we have been selling eggs at the farm, so I won’t have as many eggs as I had a few weeks ago, so plan on shopping early. If you can’t wait until Saturday, please contact me to arrange pick up at the farm or delivery in town. Hope to see you Saturday! Keep an eye on the Our Homestead FB page for more updates!

Shooting Star Farm
Hope everyone came through this week’s round of storms okay. I missed some of the heaviest rain, but it’s still pretty wet out here! I managed to harvest several pounds of salad mix last Friday, and will attempt to do so again, but quantities (if any) will be very limited. I will have some heads of red leaf, romaine, and mini lettuces, so some greens will be on the table. Not everything is in short supply, however, because I will have plenty of sweet bell and Italian frying peppers, eggplant, zucchini, and some nice, fresh white onions. Also, red and multi-colored beets, green beans, kale, swiss chard, some petite red and green cabbages, a smattering of red slicing and heirloom tomatoes, a limited supply of cherry tomatoes, lots of herbs (parsley, dill, cilantro, sage), a few cucumbers, and maybe some other odds and ends. See you Saturday!
