Open Saturday, August 15th, 8:30-11a in Water Tower Park

Hello MP Market Goers!

One of the best parts of the Mineral Point Market is getting to meet the people behind the products, and this week we’re excited to introduce our newest vendors!

Please help us welcome Driftless Leaf Farm, a family-run business owned by Mandy and Josh.

During the school year, Mandy is a music teacher. This summer, she’s taken on another role, new mom! Wanting to stay connected to her love of gardening while balancing life with a newborn, she and Josh started Driftless Leaf Farm, growing fresh, nutrient-dense microgreens right here in the Driftless Region.

If you’ve never tried microgreens before, they’re young vegetable greens harvested just after they sprout. They have a fresh, concentrated flavor. Despite their tiny size, they’re also packed with nutrition. USDA research has found that many microgreens contain especially high concentrations of vitamins, antioxidants, and other beneficial plant compounds.💚

This week, Driftless Leaf Farm will be bringing:
🌱 Broccoli & Radish Microgreens

In the coming weeks, they’ll also have pea shoots, another delicious way to add a little freshness to your meals.

Try sprinkling them on:
Sandwiches
Avocado toast
Eggs
Salads
Soups
Tacos

Be sure to stop by Driftless Leaf Farm’s table this Saturday, say hello to Mandy and Josh, and learn a little more about microgreens. We think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by just how versatile, and delicious, they are.

See you Saturday!

What a perfect day we had for last weeks Market! Thank you to everyone who came out and enjoyed the beautiful weather and supported all of the market vendors who work so hard to bring you a great selection of locally produced products!
I have been busy extracting and bottling more of that golden goodness, raw, local honey 🍯. I will be well stocked for Saturday with honey, including comb honey! If you have never had comb honey, it’s a special treat. The honey is stored in the wax comb that the bees make, and the entire thing is edible! Give it a try while supplies last.
I will also have lots of fresh chicken 🐔 and duck 🦆 eggs🥚!
If you can’t make it to the Market on Saturday, please reach out to me to arrange pick up or delivery or stop by our self-service market stand at the end of our driveway!
I hope to see you Saturday!
Thanks,
Mike

Shooting Star Farm
I’ve had just .2” of rain since the 4th of July. It’s getting pretty brown here, but it looks like we’re in store for some downpours on Friday. I’m hoping it won’t impact harvest day too much. We have a lot to harvest: red and romaine lettuces, salad mix, fennel, green beans, sweet peppers, jalapeno peppers, shishito peppers, red tomatoes, heirloom tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, scallions, white onions, curly kale, broccoli, eggplant (3 different types), celery, zucchini, green cabbage (the cool cone-shaped variety), beets, basil, dill, parsley, and possibly some arugula. We may get a bit of rain during Market on Saturday, but it will be a lovely day nonetheless. See you then!

Sugarface Donuts
We’ll be back August 15th.

Sunny Side Down
Sunny Side Down Farm are celebrating 10 Years this season! We can’t believe it either, and we are glad to be here!
Artisan Breads are BACK, along with Fresh Fruit Pies, locally famous cookies, and we are bringing some NEW products this season!
Look for our new scones (in both regular AND gluten free), new homemade pop tarts, and some new fresh bread varieties!
If you’d like to pre-order to get exactly what you want and pick up at the market, check out our website at ssdfarm.com

WWB Studio
It seems that the weather gods are flexing their wings again this coming Saturday and the prediction is for area wide showers and thunderstorms. Unfortunately my paper note cards and watercolor pencil drawings are affected by high humidity and rain. WWB studio will not be at the market August 15th. The weathermen have been known to make a mistake or two so a last minute final decision will be made Saturday morning if we wake to sunshine. Thank you for your patience and understanding and have a great weekend.

We look forward to seeing you Saturday in Water Tower Park, Business Hwy 151 at Madison Street, Mineral Point! 8:30 to 11:00 a.m.
