Scroll down to view the complete list of who will be vending this week
Wow, it has been a very dry season so far! Understatement of the year, right? It’s true, since early May we’ve gotten just 0.2″ of rain at our farm in Barneveld. And it’s like that all around! All you have to do is look at the usually green lawns to see the brown. What does this mean for our farmer’s at the market? Lots more work! Depending on the farm size they may have overhead irrigation, drip tape (think soaker hose), or just the standard garden hose. Whatever the system, it all takes time to operate; time farmers are stretched to find in any year.
So when you’re snacking on some sugar snap peas from Shooting Star Farm this week or grilling some brats from Marr’s Valley View Farm send a little thought of thanks to them and all your local farmers. Farming is what we do, it’s what we love. But the reason we love it is because feeding people, bringing people together over food we’ve grown, that’s EVERYTHING.
Thanks for coming to market and supporting our farmers, hope to see you all Saturday!
🎶Don’t forget if you play an instrument or sing, we’d love to have you at the market! For more info or to sign up head here: Music at Market .🎹🎺🎻🎸

Mineral Point Market
6/24/2023 will be our first attendance as a Vendor at the Mineral Point Farmers Market. We are looking forward to being part of the Community in this capacity. My husband, Kim, and I currently grow Aronia (chokeberries) on an acre plot. We are enthusiastic about this native berry which is a valuable early season food for bees, and once mature (late August through early September), they are good for humans as well, containing numerous health benefits. (We will have brochures at the market with more detailed information and starter recipes.) So, though the fresh berries are available only in season, Roberta uses them in Aronia Applesauce and Aronia Rhubarb jam (which is very delicious) which she will vend at the market while quantities last. Recipe books are also available. More information can be found at our website.
Additionally, Roberta hand weaves rag and fleece rugs and weavings, saving much from entering the waste stream and allowing another functional and practical life. More information about these products can be found here. She also fashions felted accessories.
We look forward to seeing everyone at the market Saturday!
Bures Berry Patch

So come on out to the Patch and pick some sweet, juicy berries & super snackable peas! At the Patch & at market, we’ll also have rhubarb, pure, local honey, pickled asparagus, asparagus soup, as well as our farm fresh eggs. We’ll also have fresh cut peonies! 🌸 For more information, head to our website. Just Poured Candle Co.
My name is Holly Adams, and I created Just Poured Candle Co. in 2022 with the support of my family and husband David, a Mineral Point native. Why? Well, I love candles and I love to make things. As a full-time caregiver for my husband, who suffered a C4 spinal cord injury and stroke in 2016, I found candle making as a creative outlet to help relieve everyday stress and fulfill a passion.
My mission is simple. Provide hand-crafted, non-toxic candles that add warmth and inspiration to any room. All my candles are made from 100% soy wax, from soybeans grown in the United States. I also do not use any dyes or additives, and only high-quality fragrance oils that do not contain parabens or phthalates. In addition to making candles, I make several other all natural products as well. Some of my other products include room sprays, bug & tick repellent, and lip balm.

Preston Creek Soapery – Julia Sheppard – Mineral Point
Preston Creek Soapery was founded in 2017 when I started to make handmade soap as a way to funnel my creative energy and calm my sensitive skin. I really enjoy formulating and making small batch vegan soap and shampoo bars, which progressed into making bath and foot soaks, bath bombs, whipped body butter and soap dishes. From day one on my soaping journey, as a vegetarian I chose to make vegan, palm free products. I use high quality skin loving ingredients such as oils, butters, coconut milk, clays, colloidal oatmeal and aloe. I live in Mineral Point with my husband Jeremy on our alpaca farm. Breeding and raising alpacas is a complete joy! In the future I hope to bring my alpaca yarn to the market. I’m so excited to meet you all on the following Saturday mornings: June 24th, July 22nd, August 26th, September 23rd and October 7 th.

Shooting Star Farm
It’s been dry. I had been feeling lucky to have a bit of rain a few weeks ago when most others didn’t get any at all. Well, I’m officially feeling not lucky in the rain department. A half-inch in six weeks isn’t great. However, I am glad my irrigation is working! The windy, dry, hot days really put that well pump to use. Crops look good despite the challenging conditions. Sugar snap peas are still cranking it out for another week or so. I have plenty of beautiful hoophouse-grown carrots, and the first of the cucumbers and zucchini are starting to come in (just a bit this week). The next few lettuce plantings look good as well, so lots of greens – including arugula and salad mix – are available for quick summer meals. Other items that I hope to harvest include white and Chioggia beets (probably just a few red ones this week), napa cabbage, scallions, curly and lacinato kale, Swiss chard, cilantro, dill, and basil. You can pre-order for Market. Info and instructions are on my website. Should be a beautiful morning. See you Saturday!
Sweet Earth Garden and Vintage China
Sweet Earth Gardens will be unable to be at the Market this week. But will be back next week.
We look forward to seeing you this Saturday in Water Tower Park, Business Hwy 151 at Madison Street, Mineral Point! 8:30 to 11:00 a.m.
