Hello MP Market Goers!
Temperatures are climbing, and that can only mean one thing — it’s time to fire up the grill and make the most of summer meals! 🔥
Whether you’re planning a backyard dinner, a porch picnic, or a lazy lunch in the shade, the Mineral Point Market has your weekend menu covered:
🥩 Locally raised meats — chicken, beef, and lamb, perfect for grilling
🌿 Fresh produce — look for the first picking of sugar snap peas, great tossed on the grill or in a crisp salad, or try this Grilled Sugar Snap Pea with Spicy Peanut Sauce Recipe, and make them an appetizer. Need I say “Yum!”
🍎 Apple BBQ sauce from Merle’s Midwest Market — sweet, tangy, and made to slather over your favorite cuts
🍯 Pantry staples — like local honey and jam to glaze meats or top biscuits
No matter your grill style — smoky, spicy, or sweet — our vendors have something to make your meals memorable.
While you’re here, grab a cold drink, let the kids run around the playground, and soak up that perfect small-town Saturday vibe.
🧺 Come early, bring a cooler, and leave with your weekend feast!

Ollie’s Slime
Hi! We’re Ollie and Cleo, and we’re both 9 years old. We started this slime business because we LOVE slime.
You can buy our slime at the Mineral Point Market on Saturdays in June. Look for Ollie’s Slime!
June 7, June 14, June 21,and June 28.
We experiment, create, mix, stretch, and squish all the slimes ourselves.
We try fun colors, cool textures, and even add charms. We sell butter slime, cloud slime, thick and glossy slime, and surprise slimes too.
Each one has a fun name and is super fun to play with.
We started this business for something fun to do. Maybe our business will get big and maybe it won’t.
Either way, everyone can have fun with slime. You don’t have to be a kid.
Thanks for checking out our slime!

Wow, I can’t believe it’s the middle of June already! It was great to see some rain this week and I’m hoping to see more blooms in the prairie soon for the honey bees and pollinators. It’s been a very busy week dealing with bees, and catching swarms, but it has been a great experience to share with the family. I am planning on being at the Market this weekend with chicken and duck eggs as well as my local honey! Chicken eggs may be limited this week, so get to the market early, before they are gone! I pulled my last two cases of honey out of storage so I will be well stocked this weekend with 1/2 pound and 1 pound glass jars of beautiful golden honey! I hope to see you Saturday morning!
Thanks,
Mike

Shooting Star Farm
Summer has arrived with all it’s glorious heat and humidity! I haven’t quite adjusted since it’s been relatively cool this May and June, but I guess it’s time to embrace the climbing mercury. The weekend looks to be toasty, and I’ll have some cool and crunchy veggies to enjoy uncooked. Cucumbers are just starting to come in. Very small numbers will be available this weekend. Plus sugar snap peas are finally ready to harvest! They go great with scallions (also ready!) and carrots (I’ll bring lots!). Napa cabbage heads are filling out and make for an amazing chopped salad (add carrots, peas, scallions, and Asian dressing). Plus, lettuces and salad greens are still plentiful. In addition, I still have bunched beets, lacinato and curly kale, Swiss chard, cilantro, dill, garlic scapes, arugula, some smaller kohlrabi, red and French breakfast radishes, and a bit of cauliflower. See you Saturday!
