Aaron’s Peppers
We’ve tried the Mariachi – a mild “hot” pepper, only 500-600 Scoville Heat Units (SHU) as compared to 1.2 million SHU for the Carolina Reaper, in salsa, in chili con carne, on salads, and as the base for poppers. So far, my Mom’s favorite use is in salsa. When we think of peppers, their heat comes to mind but there are SO many flavors to discover. Saturday is a great day to come to the Market! See you there.

We are planning to be at the upcoming market (September 16). I will have some rugs (and probably some felted accessories). I will also have Aronia Rhubarb jam and Aronia Applesauce (pints), but I no longer have fresh Aronia.

Grandview Garlic Farm
Attendance unknown – Hello, Grandview farm will not be at the Mineral Point market this Saturday. We have 5 varieties to choose from this year: Romanian Red, Georgian Fire, German Extra Harty, Persian Star, and Elephant. Our Garlic was harvested mid-July and then cured for 3 weeks. James Pine Valley Farm
The cooler weather is welcome this week and even a few rain drops. It feels good to slip on a sweatshirt in the early morning hours. Our usual items will be available this week – whole chickens, half chicken packages, leg/thigh packages as well as breast packages. We will also have several varieties of Hooks Cheese of which sheep selections have become very popular this summer. Stop by our table and check them out, Sorry to say we will not have eggs this week. My name is Holly Adams, and I created Just Poured Candle Co. in 2022 with the support of my family and husband David, a Mineral Point native. Why? Well, I love candles and I love to make things. As a full-time caregiver for my husband, who suffered a C4 spinal cord injury and stroke in 2016, I found candle making as a creative outlet to help relieve everyday stress and fulfill a passion.
My mission is simple. Provide hand-crafted, non-toxic candles that add warmth and inspiration to any room. All my candles are made from 100% soy wax, from soybeans grown in the United States. I also do not use any dyes or additives, and only high-quality fragrance oils that do not contain parabens or phthalates. In addition to making candles, I make several other all natural products as well. Some of my other products include room sprays, bug & tick repellent, and lip balm.

I’m so so sorry for the delay. Was very scattered yesterday. We unfortunately won’t be at mkt on Saturday because I’ll be coming back from being away and Matt & Z have to go to a wedding. Will return next week!
Laxey Creek Sheep Ranch
Laxey Creek Sheep Ranch will be at the market with lamb bratwurst, beef, and honey. Our animals are grass-fed and grass-finished. We have combined regenerative grazing practices with a sheep breed specifically selected for meat to create an unbeatable experience in your culinary adventures.

Baby afghans are the perfect gift for a baby shower. We have full-sized afghans, lap-covers and all things warm and cozy. We have ponchos, which are great gifts for birthdays or just for fun! Magic Light Photography
The weather sure turned fast this week! Fall is my favorite time of year with the cooler weather and the leaves starting to turn. Fall is also turning out to be a very busy time for me so I will not be at the market this weekend. Instead, I will be at the Driftless Area Art Festival in Soldier Grove exhibiting my photography. The weather looks great so if you are looking for something to do this weekend, after you stock up at the market, make the beautiful drive to Soldiers Grove to see all of the great artwork, have some amazing food and listen to some wonderful live music! This is most likely going to be my last art fair, so I’m going to discount my work to try to clear out some space at home. I do still have a lot of honey available so feel free to contact me if you would like to purchase some. I hope to be back at the market in a couple of weeks if my schedule allows.

Mama Bear’s Baking
Hello, I am happy to say Mama Bear’s will be back at the market this Saturday. Mineral Point Public Library
We are excited to come to the Mineral Point Market. We are planning on coming to the market every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month, if the weather cooperates. We will bring materials for checkout including books, audio books, dvds, magazines, preschool kits and other items for checkout. Preston Creek Soapery – Julia Sheppard – Mineral Point
I’ll be back September 23rd! Preston Creek Soapery was founded in 2017 when I started to make handmade soap as a way to funnel my creative energy and calm my sensitive skin. I really enjoy formulating and making small batch vegan soap and shampoo bars, which progressed into making bath and foot soaks, bath bombs, whipped body butter and soap dishes. From day one on my soaping journey, as a vegetarian I chose to make vegan, palm free products. I use high quality skin loving ingredients such as oils, butters, coconut milk, clays, colloidal oatmeal and aloe. I live in Mineral Point with my husband Jeremy on our alpaca farm. Breeding and raising alpacas is a complete joy! In the future I hope to bring my alpaca yarn to the market. I’m so excited to meet you all on the following Saturday mornings: August 26th, September 23rd and October 7th.

Shooting Star Farm
It’s been a beautiful, cool week, and I got a full ½ inch of rain on Sunday night. Not much, but very welcome and in time for a few cover crops. I’ll have a some fall-like items this week including baby bok choy, leeks, fennel, sunshine winter squash, yellow onions, a few salad turnips, and shallots. Now’s the time to think about processing roma tomatoes. They are really coming in and are big and beautiful. I’ll have some 20lb boxes at market along with smaller quantities. Heirloom tomatoes are basically done for the year, but cherry tomatoes and red slicing tomatoes are still available. Also: hot peppers (fresno, jalapenos, poblanos), sweet peppers (bell, Italian frying, mini red/orange snacking peppers, the first of the larger red/orange sweet peppers, and shishito peppers), tomatillos, Italian globe eggplant and elongated Japanese eggplant, cucumbers, a bit of zucchini, celery, white onions, Italian bottle onions (almost gone), Swiss chard, salad mix, a small amount of baby head lettuce, parsley, dill, a bit of cilantro, and possibly some basil (depends on the low temps this week).
