🍂 Who’s Ready for Fall?🍂

The leaves are changing! I was just up north this week and wow! Things are looking really pretty!

With the nights getting cooler, it’s time to think about cuddling up under a warm blanket while eating some fresh from the oven apple crisp? Sounds heavenly, right?

So before this weekend’s Cornish Festivities begin, stop up to market. Grab a Cornish treat from The Cornish Baker, some warm & cozie supplies, and start your day off right at the Mineral Point Market!

Don’t forget, if you play an instrument or sing, we’d love to have you at the market! There are still several spots left to be filled.  For more info or to sign up head here: Music at Market .🎹🎺🎻🎸

Aaron’s Peppers

We’ve tried the Mariachi – a mild “hot” pepper, only 500-600 Scoville Heat Units (SHU) as compared to 1.2 million SHU for the Carolina Reaper, in salsa, in chili con carne, on salads, and as the base for poppers. So far, my Mom’s favorite use is in salsa. When we think of peppers, their heat comes to mind but there are SO many flavors to discover. Saturday is a great day to come to the Market! See you there.

Just Poured Candle Co.

My name is Holly Adams, and I created Just Poured Candle Co. in 2022 with the support of my family and husband David, a Mineral Point native. Why? Well, I love candles and I love to make things. As a full-time caregiver for my husband, who suffered a C4 spinal cord injury and stroke in 2016, I found candle making as a creative outlet to help relieve everyday stress and fulfill a passion.
My mission is simple. Provide hand-crafted, non-toxic candles that add warmth and inspiration to any room. All my candles are made from 100% soy wax, from soybeans grown in the United States. I also do not use any dyes or additives, and only high-quality fragrance oils that do not contain parabens or phthalates. In addition to making candles, I make several other all natural products as well. Some of my other products include room sprays, bug & tick repellent, and lip balm.
Mineral Point Market Dates: June 10th , July 8th , August 12th , & September 9th

King’s Hill Farm

Unfortunately, we will not be at market this week. We’re needing to play a little catch-up after my being gone for a few weeks, on top of our organic inspection being next week, so I’m also feeling the need to use the weekend to make sure I have everything in order. I promise we’ll be back for all the remaining markets of September and October! Best, Julia

Magic Light Photography

Attendance Unknown – The weather sure turned fast this week! Fall is my favorite time of year with the cooler weather and the leaves starting to turn. Fall is also turning out to be a very busy time for me so I will not be at the market this weekend. Instead, I will be at the Driftless Area Art Festival in Soldier Grove exhibiting my photography. The weather looks great so if you are looking for something to do this weekend, after you stock up at the market, make the beautiful drive to Soldiers Grove to see all of the great artwork, have some amazing food and listen to some wonderful live music! This is most likely going to be my last art fair, so I’m going to discount my work to try to clear out some space at home. I do still have a lot of honey available so feel free to contact me if you would like to purchase some. I hope to be back at the market in a couple of weeks if my schedule allows.
Thanks,
Mike

Preston Creek Soapery – Julia Sheppard – Mineral Point

I’m back this Saturday! Preston Creek Soapery was founded in 2017 when I started to make handmade soap as a way to funnel my creative energy and calm my sensitive skin. I really enjoy formulating and making small batch vegan soap and shampoo bars, which progressed into making bath and foot soaks, bath bombs, whipped body butter and soap dishes. From day one on my soaping journey, as a vegetarian I chose to make vegan, palm free products. I use high quality skin loving ingredients such as oils, butters, coconut milk, clays, colloidal oatmeal and aloe. I live in Mineral Point with my husband Jeremy on our alpaca farm. Breeding and raising alpacas is a complete joy! In the future I hope to bring my alpaca yarn to the market. I’m so excited to meet you all on the following Saturday mornings: August 26th, September 23rd and October 7th.

Shooting Star Farm

The rain this last Monday helped my fall cover crop of oats germinate. It’s so nice to see those little green shoots poking up out of the ground. It’s been beautiful outside, but fall is definitely here. No more working after 7pm without a headlamp, and I’m just not gonna do that. My produce selection this week is similar to last with the addition of red radishes. I may have some carrots, but they are still looking a bit small, so we’ll see… Here’s the list for this week: baby bok choy, leeks, fennel, sunshine winter squash, salad turnips, red radishes, roma tomatoes (lots!), red tomatoes (declining rapidly), and cherry tomatoes; hot peppers (fresno, jalapenos, poblanos), sweet peppers (bell, Italian frying), mini red/orange snacking peppers, larger red/orange/yellow sweet peppers, shishito peppers, tomatillos, Italian globe eggplant and elongated Japanese eggplant, cucumbers, a bit of zucchini, celery, white, yellow, and red onions, shallots, Swiss chard, salad mix, baby head lettuce, parsley, dill, cilantro, sage, and thyme. You can pre-order for market pick-up at my website. See you all Saturday!

Sweet Earth Garden and Vintage China

Dear friends, Sweet Earth Gardens will be at the market this week and both the flowers and I are so happy with the rain on Tuesday. I have Dahlias, Gladiolas, Zinnias, Calendula, Lisianthus, Sunflowers, Cosmos, Verbena and Strawflowers grasses and greens.
I also am writing to let you know after 7 years of vending I will be retiring my flower business after this year. I will be here until a hard frost this season. I will miss seeing you each week and am so very grateful for your patronage. I thank you for your business and chats. I thank the managers and fellow vendors for your support and camaraderie. I will be at the market next year on the other side of the table as a customer. It has been a privilege to be a part of this wonderful market and community.
My Best wishes and thanks,
Barbara
