We’re back in the park once again this Saturday with loads of great farm products as well as some fabulous home and gift items. It’s going to be a gorgeous weekend so I’m firing up the grill and trying something new, grilled balsamic beets.

We’re grateful that so many of you have chosen to either shop the market or do curbside pickup at the Mineral Point Market. Most of our vendors are offering the option to either shop the market or pre-order for curbside pickup at market. Be sure to scroll down to learn who will be at market this Saturday, what they’ll be vending, and how to purchase from them.

This market will stay a safe and healthy place to shop if we all take measures to protect each other. Check out our covid safety measures to learn more. Remember, we’re in this together!

Here’s a map highlighting where curbside pickup takes place

To make curbside pickup even easier, please have a sign on your rear passenger side window with your FIRST and LAST name + the farms you ordered from.

Shooting Star Farm
It’s been a busy few days racing to get more crops in the ground and hoe some existing plantings before the rain and cool weather. More and more vegetables are becoming available now that June is in full swing. Here’s my best guess for what will be available for pre-order and on the Market stand on Saturday: bunched red beets, scallions, dill, cilantro, basil tops, kohlrabi, curly kale, lacinato kale, salad turnips, red radishes, salad mix, arugula, large heads of romaine, red leaf, and green leaf lettuce, mixed medium-sized lettuce, sugar snap peas (very limited amount of an early, small variety), Swiss chard, possibly some spinach and small heads of napa cabbage.
Please check my website, Shooting Star Farm if you’d like to pre-order for Saturday curbside pickup. Although it’s a little difficult to predict exactly what will be available for Saturday, each Friday I will post an update on both my Facebook page and website (on the “pre-order” page).
For you mushroom lovers, my son Charlie is experimenting with growing oyster mushrooms in straw logs. They are looking good. These are similar to wild mushrooms, but no dirt and bugs to worry about! He hopes to harvest his first crop in time for the June 20th Market. I’ll be offering them for sale on the website when they come available. See you Saturday!

Sunny Side Down
Sunny Side Down LLC will be at the market on Saturday! We are still encouraging pre-orders, especially on Bread and Pies. We have a few gluten free options now in Pies, Sweet Bread, and a GF Chocolate Cake! Check out our menus! Please email us at sunnysidedownllc@gmail.com or message us on Facebook to place your order. Looks like a great weekend for market!

Sweet Earth Garden and Vintage China
Sweet Earth Gardens will be at the market this week. We will have Delphiniums, Alliums, Iris, Peonies, Baptisia, some Lilies, Gerberas, Angelonia and Spiderwort. Hope this rain stays gentle. If you wish to order a $10 or $20 bouquet to pick up at curbside feel free to contact me at bmanionplatt@gmil.com with your name and size of bouquet. Thanks, Barbara
