Open Saturday, August 10th, 8:30-11am in Water Tower Park

Hello MP Market Goers!

Our market is a cherished part of the Mineral Point community, offering a unique and valuable experience. Farmers markets bring together producers and consumers directly, allowing farmers to earn more from their sales while providing shoppers with the freshest, most flavorful food available. By eliminating middlemen, these markets also bolster local economies and provide a more sustainable option compared to the long supply chains of supermarkets.

Locally grown produce at farmers markets, often harvested within miles of the market, is fresher and more nutritious than supermarket offerings that may travel over 1,200 miles and sit on shelves for weeks. Farmers markets also offer specialty items not commonly found in grocery stores and create a personal, community-focused shopping experience.

Supporting local vendors not only helps sustain area farms and introduces unique foods, but often times, our farmers’ hire teens for their first job. Teaching and encouraging them to become responsible, accountable, and successful young adults.

So let’s celebrate this week the treasure that is the Mineral Point Market! Since 1995 it’s been serving Mineral Point locally produced/locally made products for your table and your home.

Here is a partial list of items at this week’s market:

Beef, Pork, Chicken, Lamb, Bacon, Brats, Burgers, Eggs, Cheese, Honey, Maple Syrup, Artisan Breads, Coffee, Sweet and Savory Baked Goods, Breakfast Burritos, Garlic, Sweet Corn, Potatoes, Green Beans, Carrots, Beets, Tomatoes of every size & color, Fennel, Cabbage, Sweet & Spicy Peppers, Eggplant, Swiss Chard, Curly Kale, Lacinato Kale, Onions, Scallions, Arugula, Salad Mix, Lettuce Heads, Soup, Fresh Cut Flowers, Houseplants, Watercolor Drawings & Notecards, Crocheted Afghans & Other Items, Rugs, Hand Sewn Tote Bags, Sheepskin Weavings, Aronia Applesauce, and much more. Come and check it all out!

Just Poured Candle Co.
My name is Holly Adams, and I created Just Poured Candle Co. in 2022 with the support of my family and husband David, a Mineral Point native. Why? Well, I love candles and I love to make things. As a full-time caregiver for my husband, who suffered a C4 spinal cord injury and stroke in 2016, I found candle making as a creative outlet to help relieve everyday stress and fulfill a passion.
My mission is simple. Provide hand-crafted, non-toxic candles that add warmth and inspiration to any room. All my candles are made from 100% soy wax, from soybeans grown in the United States. I also do not use any dyes or additives, and only high-quality fragrance oils that do not contain parabens or phthalates.
In addition to making candles, I make several other all natural products as well. Some of my other products include room sprays, bug and tick repellent, and lip balm.
I’ll be at market again on September 7th

It’s HONEY time! I have been extracting and bottling honey this week and will have my first batch of local, raw and unfiltered honey available at the market this weekend! All of my honey has been collected by the bees that I keep right here on our little farm, just 2 miles from town. If time allows, I may also bring some special little worker bees to the market with me so you can see them up close, and safe! I will also have a very limited number of chicken and duck eggs available as well as our upcycled feed bag totes. The weather is looking perfect for the market this weekend.
Thanks,
Mike

It’s all or nothing with the rain this year! I got just under 2” the other night, and I’m glad to stop dragging hoses around for a while. This week I’ll have loads of green beans, bulk carrots, bulk beets, tomatoes (red, heirloom, mixed cherry, and salad types, and maybe the first romas), fennel, cabbage (yup – the cone-shaped one), sweet bell and Italian frying peppers, shishito peppers, jalapeno & poblano peppers, the first colorful peppers both larger and mini, eggplant (3 types), Swiss chard, curly kale, lacinato kale, uncured white and Italian bottle onions, scallions, arugula, a small amount of salad mix, and lettuce heads, and an assortment of herbs. Enjoy this beautiful cooler weather and we’ll see you Saturday!
