Hello MP Market Goers!
It’s going to be another busy and beautiful weekend in Mineral Point! Last week was homecoming, this week it’s the Fall Art Tour. With so many things to do in and around Mineral Point, don’t forget to make time to stop up to market Saturday morning and grab everything you need to make the week delicious!
With the cooler weather Shooting Star Farm has been getting crops that are frost fragile harvested and others not as fragile covered. In addition, the hoop houses needed some attention as some of the covering would not sufficiently protect the crops inside. Stay warm little lettuces!🥶🥬🥶🥬
This week also marks the final week for several of our vendors. Be sure to stock up this week on chicken & cheese from PJ’s Poultry, all things aronia from Barham Gardens, as well as handmade gifts from Renewed Traditions, Love and Hugs from Lauri, and Learning to Fashion.

Calaur Farm
Our garlic is cured and ready for you! Calaur Farm hopes to see you Saturday with our mix of hardneck garlic, starting with our main varieties of Music and German Extra Hardy.
On our small family farm, we are still in the early years of growing certified organic hardneck garlic. We are having so much fun experimenting with new heirloom varieties and see how they respond to our soil and climate. Compared to most supermarket garlic, which tends to be softneck varieties, hardneck garlic has a central flowering stalk called a scape and produces fewer but larger bulbs. These varieties produce a more complex flavor, ranging from mild and sweet to lingering heat. They are also more suitable for growing in northern climates, where we plant early October and harvest in July.
This year we added two new Creole varieties, the spicy Metechi and the sweet Italian Aglio Rosso di Sulmona. If you are interested in a bulk order, find us at the market or text (608-778-8895) or email us any time.

Just Poured Candle Co.
My name is Holly Adams, and I created Just Poured Candle Co. in 2022 with the support of my family and husband David, a Mineral Point native. Why? Well, I love candles and I love to make things. As a full-time caregiver for my husband, who suffered a C4 spinal cord injury and stroke in 2016, I found candle making as a creative outlet to help relieve everyday stress and fulfill a passion.
My mission is simple. Provide hand-crafted, non-toxic candles that add warmth and inspiration to any room. All my candles are made from 100% soy wax, from soybeans grown in the United States. I also do not use any dyes or additives, and only high-quality fragrance oils that do not contain parabens or phthalates.
In addition to making candles, I make several other all natural products as well. Some of my other products include room sprays, bug and tick repellent, and lip balm.
