Hello MP Market Goers!

Curious as to when the outdoor market ends? We’ll continue the outdoor season through October as long as it stays warm enough. If it turns cold, stay tuned for more information.

It’s getting cooler and cooler outside, so cool that some areas have had frost already! When temps start to drop, it’s nice to be able to do more cooking without the worry of heating up the house.

Soup and chili are two of my favorite meals to make in fall. And right now we’re hovering, for just a bit longer, between summer and fall so you can either make a tomato soup or a squash soup. But if you really want to heat things up, switch to chili. I love this chicken salsa chili recipe from Cafe Latte in St. Paul, MN. But a good beef chili over noodles is also a Wisconsin favorite.

Find fresh ingredients this Saturday at market to keep you warm throughout the coming week.

Here is a partial list of items at this week’s market:

Beef, Pork, Bacon, Chicken, Eggs, Cheese, Artisan Breads, Coffee, Sweet and Savory Baked Goods, Ginger, Sweet & Hot Peppers, Tomatoes, Kohlrabi, Winter Squash, Bunched Greens, Green Onions, Bok Choy, Napa Cabbage, Green Cabbage, Broccoli, Leeks, Onions, Shallots, Scallions, Carrots, Celery, Curly Kale, Swiss Chard, Eggplant, Lettuce Heads, Beets, Endive, Thyme, Sage, Dill, Salad Mix, Garlic, Potatoes, Honey, Jam, Pickles, Artisan Wood Products, Fresh Cut Flowers, Fall Annual Plants, and much more. Come and check it all out!

We look forward to seeing you this Saturday in Water Tower Park, Business Hwy 151 at Madison Street, Mineral Point! 8:30 to 11:00 a.m.

Marr’s Valley View Farms

It was good seeing everyone again last weekend. It’s Homecoming week in Mineral Point and the weather forecast looks beautiful for the festivities. Cooler nights make us think of those warm fresh breakfasts, beef roasts and stews made with foods produced by your neighbors, family or friends and purchased at ‘your’ local Farmers’ Market. Reminder, as Summer leaves us so do our bratwursts. We are almost sold out of a couple varieties and they won’t be back until 2023 so stock up this Saturday for the winter.
In general these days, as soon as we get product in stock, it’s going right back out the door so it’s been difficult to keep everything on hand. To ensure that you can get what you want or are in need of a large quantity please place your order in advance on our website, marrsvvfmeats.com and we will have it ready for you to pick up at the Market.
See you soon, all of us at Marr’s Valley View Farms.

Over the Moon Soap Co

Over The Moon Soap will not be at market the rest of the season.
Their Soap and Shampoo Bars are available by contacting Yvonne on her Facebook page, or by emailing overthemoonsoapco@gmail.com.
Orders can be picked up at their home in Dodgeville any time! And they also offer delivery on certain days to the city of MP and Dodgeville.
Watch for a separate Over The Moon Soap Facebook page with a list of the soaps available for purchase, and how to order.
Also watch for posts on the MP Community Page for updates on product and a list of Fall and Holiday Vendor events they will be attending.
Yvonne and Pat thank you for your continued support of Over The Moon Soaps and look forward to seeing you around the area.
Sincerely,
The McIntyres

Scrappin’ With Joni

My 2022 Market season has ended. Our October schedule is filled with family commitments. I continue to have a supply of handmade cards for all occasions; birthdays, anniversaries, new babies, get well, retirement, sympathy. Sending a handmade card is a great way to say “I care”. I also have the journals, notepads and gift card holders that are so popular at my Market table. You can email me to arrange local pickup or arrange to have items shipped to you.
Thank you for your support of my business in the 2022 Market season. ~Joni

Shooting Star Farm

Frost is in the air! As I write this, some areas have had two nights of frost, but not me – yet. It may hit tonight, so basil and cherry tomatoes could be done for the year. It’s a little early this year, but I’m grateful for the sunny days for working in the chilly weather. More sun is in store for Saturday! So head over to the Market and stock up on fall goodness. Here’s what I hope to harvest this week: green cabbage, broccoli, leeks, onions, shallots, scallions, carrots, celery, curly kale, Swiss chard; green, red and orange sweet peppers, jalapeno peppers, shishito peppers, eggplant, lettuce heads, bunched red and multi-color beets, endive, winter squash (butternut, delicata, kabocha), roma tomatoes, thyme, sage, dill, and a very limited amount of salad mix. Pre-order for Market pick-up here. See you Saturday!

Spensley Farm

Thank you to all of our customers that came out to the market. We are sorry that Saturday was our last in-person market for the season. The good news is that you can still order our seasonal menu via our website. We are happy to deliver to the 53565 area, or you can stop by the farm to pick it up. I’m already planning for the 2023 summer! Nicole & Steven Bujewski – Spensley Farm

Sweet Earth Garden and Vintage China

Sweet Earth Gardens will be at the market this Saturday. Holding my breath on the weather, if the frost will reach the top of our hill 🤞. We should have Zinnias, Dahlias, hydrangeas, Cosmos, Statice, Coneflowers and more. Hope to see you there.
