It’s SWEET CORN season! If you’re wanting to get some in your freezer, please call 608-924-1404 or email by 3 pm Friday to pre-order for market pickup. We continue to dig potatoes fresh each week for market and we’ll once again have red and German butterballs available, as well as green beans, zucchini, and our gorgeous selection of sunflowers! How about this heat? It’s really finishing the crops nicely and keeping the hay growing! Join us this weekend for another great market filled with more great items!
In addition to our baked goods, Mother Nature gave us some pears, via straight line winds earlier this week! They’ll need to sit in their brown bags (or whatever tricks you all use) to ripen for a bit, but worth the wait and tasty! The trees are non sprayed, well pollinated, and just do their thing! Feel free to pre-order a pound or 3, or come pick your own from the baskets; $2 per pound.
Here’s our bakery offering this week:
Scones: cheddar onion dill, bacon asparagus, morning glory, chile corn.
Muffins: PB&J, banana chocolate chip, lemon blueberry.
Bars and Treats: oatmeal fudge, s’mores, coffeecake, date bars, carmelitas, strawberry lemon.
Sweet Rolls: cinnamon, strawberry, samoan, and our fruit Danish.
Breads: apple cranberry, original, cinnamon raisin, caraway dill.
Cookies: chocolate chip, PB M&M, iced sugar.

Hi market goers. Getting some badly needed rain but not so fond of the storms! This week we will have our usual chicken collection – whole packages, half packages, leg/thigh packages and breast packages. Also have gizzard, liver and neck packages. Farm fresh eggs and many varieties of cheese from Hooks Cheese Co. will be available as well as our popular new item Cheese Pizza Crust from Brunkow Cheese Co. We’ll have our full line of tender, flavorful Black Angus Beef products and pork products on Saturday including Bratwurst, Steaks, Beef and Pork Roasts, Beef and Pork Ribs, Italian Sausages, Jerky, Beef Sticks, Beef Summer Sausage, Pork Chops and more. Shooting Star Farm
We got some cover crops in and some weeding done just before the rain was due to hit over the weekend. I was beginning to regret not irrigating, when finally the skies opened up early Monday morning. The farm has had .7” so far this week and more may fall as storms are brewing as I write this! For you lettuce lovers, I may have a bit this weekend, but am sadly still very short on heads. I will have some salad mix, but best to arrive early as supplies are limited. Steamy weather hasn’t helped production! Lots of summer veggies for the weekend including red tomatoes, roma tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, heirloom tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers, green beans, colorful bell peppers, shishito peppers, napa cabbage, kale, Swiss chard, leeks, lots of colorful beets, basil, parsley, dill, eggplant, and a few hot peppers. Remember you can preorder for Market pickup from 6pm Wednesday evening until 7pm Thursday. Order here.
