What a very nice day for our opening market last week. Great to see everyone so excited about our 2021 market season. This week we are offering our delicious chicken which is raised here on Pine Valley Farm as well as farm fresh eggs. Our items are now available for direct purchase at the market but should you wish to pre-order with in person pickup at the market email us at pinevalleychix@gmail.com or give us a call at 608 987-2245. Frozen chicken packages include whole, half or breast packages. We will also have a variety of Hooks cheese products on hand. Our egg carton supply is low so if you have some on hand bring them along. Thank you to all who continue to support our vendors.

Kings Hill Farm
King’s Hill Farm loved our first week at the Mineral Point Market last week and thank everyone for welcoming us so well. We’re excited that asparagus is finally popping and will have both green and an heirloom purple variety of asparagus. We’ll also have salad mix, spinach, and chives again this week. It will be the last week of ramps so get them while they’re here! Finally, we’ll have some green curly kale and head lettuce – both of which make delicious salads! We will have our full Beef and Pork product offering at Market this weekend for you to choose from including Brats, Pork and Beef Ribs, Beef Steaks, Pork Chops and more. Our new Pulled Pork was a HIT!
So….you welcomed our newest product, Pulled Pork, with open arms – WOW! Apologies to those that missed out because we were sold out. We will bring extra this week and you can always place a pre-order to ensure you get yours. It’s currently available in 2 lb. packages at an introductory price of $5.99 per pound so now’s the time to stock up. Perfect for pulled pork sandwiches or with mashed potatoes and gravy. Add your favorite BBQ sauce for that extra zip. The work is all done for you – just heat and eat! Great for Mother’s Day – spend your time with Mom instead of the kitchen.

Pre-Ordering
We will continue taking PRE-ORDERS for Market in addition to having our full product line at Market. It worked well for both the customers and ourselves in 2020. All pre-orders must be placed by NOON ON FRIDAYS. If you need a product list let us know and we’ll email it to you. You can pre-order our mugs for pickup as well.
Here’s how to order:
* e-mail your order to marrsvvfmeats@gmail.com no later than NOON ON FRIDAY;
* specify product name and desired quantity in packages – example: 2 packages of Bone In Pork Chops;
* if you want a specific product size please specify – example: 2.5 to 3 lb. Boneless Chuck Roast – otherwise we will pick for you;
* provide a phone number where you can be reached for questions;
* payment is by check made out to Valley View Farms;
* we will email your order total Friday night by 10:00 p.m. so you can have your check ready;
* we will be back under the shelter – you can come up and pick up your order from us. If you prefer curbside pickup, just call or text us when you arrive at 608-425-8909 and we will bring your order to your car.
Mineral Point Meat CSA Pickup Saturday at Market
May CSA share pickup is this week at Market. We will be set up under the shelter this year like old times – no longer down at the curb. If it’s your first time picking up your Meat CSA at Market just look for the red tablecloth and blue/white coolers under the shelter – that’s us!

Shooting Star Farm
Holy cow folks! Thanks for the amazing opening week of market! What a fun gathering on a chilly, windy, but wonderfully, socially satisfying day. This week I will have more selection on my table: salad turnips, baby bok choy, spinach (quite limited), red and French breakfast radishes, salad mix, and arugula. I will not be bringing tomato and basil plants this week due to the predicted almost/possible frost. However, you can pre-order and reserve plants on my website here. Place a separate order for plants only and indicate May 15th pick-up in the comment section. Instructions are on the website. It’s been a busy time planting, hoeing, harvesting, protecting things from the heat, protecting things from the cold (what a weather rollercoaster!).
