Marr’s Valley View Farm
It’s going to be another nice weekend just made for grilling your favorite Valley View Farms’ meats. If you like to fire up the smoker we have a very limited amount of gorgeous boneless Pork Butt Roasts, each in the 6.5 to 8 lbs. range. Don’t wait on these, they won’t last long. We also have Beef Brisket, Beef Short Ribs and Spare Ribs that are perfect for the smoker or grill; topped off with your favorite BBQ Sauce – OH MY!!!!
We are fully stocked with ground beef products and 6 varieties of bratwurst including our newest – the Packer Brat!!! Ribeyes and New York Strips are in stock but don’t wait to get yours – we have a minimal quantity – they tend to fly out the door! Sorry but the King and Queen of steaks, Porterhouse and T-Bone, are sold out for the foreseeable future. It’s STILL BLT season so grab your lettuce and tomatoes and pick up 2 or 3 of your favorite bacon varieties from us for that irresistible end of summer treat. With cooler nights in the forecast it turns our taste buds toward roasts, soups and stews. We’ll bring our full line of Beef and Pork Roasts, Stew Meat and Soup Bones to Market for your favorite recipes.

Looking for a fun outing this weekend? After shopping the Market head down to Soldiers Memorial Park and check out the 5th Annual Mineral Point Car Show from noon to 4 p.m. Judging results will be announced at 4 p.m. They are anticipating upwards of 100 vehicles from those in ‘project stage’, antique up to 1935, motorcycles, street rods, muscle cars and more. The MP Chamber is running the concession stand and serving our brats and burgers. That’s where you’ll find us Saturday afternoon – having lunch and checking out all the show entries.

Hope everyone enjoyed Labor Day weekend and a very small bit of fall-like weather. Saturday will be summery and beautiful with lots of good produce. Here’s what I hope to harvest: Lettuce heads including mixed small varieties, plus some larger romaine and green butter types, a rainbow of sweet bell and frying peppers in purple, yellow and green colors, plus riper, sweeter, orange and red ones. Also, shishito peppers, hot jalapeno, poblano, and Anaheim peppers, tomatillos, red slicing tomatoes, roma tomatoes (lots of romas this week!), and heirloom, saladette, and cherry tomatoes, eggplant, delicata winter squash, red beets, celery, carrots, curly kale, parsley, basil, salad mix, a few radishes, and possibly some fennel.
Remember you can preorder for Market pickup from 6pm Wednesday evening until 7pm Thursday. Order here. See you Saturday!
