Bures Berry Patch
Fall has arrived at the Patch. Our sweet corn season has ended and we’ve only got another week or two of potatoes left for the season. This week we’ll also begin to bring our fall selection of pumpkins, gourds, and squash. Plus, we’ve started to pick our raspberries and though we won’t have a lot of them, more will be had in the weeks to come. Don’t forget that we’ve got farm fresh eggs, local honey, jam, and dilly beans! Ahhhhh – the final days of August have passed and transitioned into Labor Day weekend. It’s going to be perfect weather giving plenty of opportunities to cookout and picnic with your favorite meats. We have a couple ‘new kids’ on the block. If you haven’t yet tried our Packer Brat or BBQ Pulled Pork, now’s the time.
We are fully stocked with ground beef products and 6 varieties of bratwurst. Or how about some Beef Short Ribs and Pork Baby Back or Spare Ribs slow cooked to “falling-off-the-bone” perfection and covered in your favorite BBQ sauce? Ribeyes and New York Strips are in stock but don’t wait to get yours – we have a minimal quantity – they tend to fly out the door! It’s STILL BLT season so grab your lettuce and tomatoes and pick up 2 or 3 of your favorite bacon varieties from us for that irresistible end of summer treat.
With cooler nights in the forecast it turns our taste buds toward roasts, soups and stews. We’ll bring our full line of Beef and Pork Roasts, Stew Meat and Soup Bones to Market for your favorite recipes.

Saturday looks to be a beautiful day. Lots of produce is available during this busy, busy harvest season. Here’s what I hope to have on my table this week: Lettuce heads including mixed small varieties, plus some larger red and green leaf, and green butter types, bell peppers, frying peppers, sweet multi-color peppers in all shapes and sizes, shishito peppers, hot jalapeno, poblano, and Anaheim peppers, tomatillos, eggplant, green beans, lots of red slicing tomatoes, roma tomatoes, and heirloom and cherry tomatoes, red and multi-color beets, celery, carrots, curly kale, salad turnips, yellow onions, salad mix, parsley, basil, and possibly radishes.
