Farmers Daughter Bakery and Kitchen
After our little 3 day getaway, we’re back here on the farm, back at “it”…
“IT” is many different things for us: for our girls; school, chores, sports, repeat.
For Brian, “IT” is early mornings, cows things, more cow things, home to our farm for maybe even more cow things, help our girls with their sport things, school things, chore things, etc.
For myself, “IT” is attempting early mornings (yuck), getting our girls through the chore things so they can get to the school things, finish chore things, bakery things, try-to-find-the-garden things, admire the chickens and ducks things (because they make me happy), and all around whatever needs to be done things.
In other words, “IT” around our place is, simply and complexly, life being lived. And, in amongst all the “IT” things that your family does, don’t forget to get away from the hustle of it every now and then, quiet the noise, and do something fun! Like, maybe, oh, I don’t know… Come on out to the Mineral Point Market? Because that place, is pretty darn awesome!
This week, amongst all the other things happening, we’ll be baking up lots of fresh items for your family. Here is our list.
Scones: cheddar onion dill, bacon apricot, pear cardamon, lemon blueberry.
Muffins: banana chocolate chip, lemon blueberry, pear oat.
Bars and Treats: apple blondies, lemon bars, cookie dough brownies, chocolate toffee bars, s’mores, strawberry lemon.
Sweet Rolls: cinnamon, orange cream, samoan.
Cookies: chocolate chip, iced sugar, oatmeal raisin.
Pies: cherry raspberry, peach blueberry, classic peach, apple.
Extras: How about some fruit Danish and some Apple Cider Donuts? I think that will round out the list fairly well!
Pre-order by 3 p.m. Friday! You can place your order on Facebook and send us a message, send us an email at farmgalsbake@yahoo.com  or send us a text message at 608-214-3475.
We sure hope you will come on out and join us!

Marr’s Valley View Farm
Grilling weather is still holding on strong! It’s going to be another nice weekend so we’ve decided there’s no better time to put one or two ‘somethings’ on special for you, our cherished customers. Since we haven’t yet decided what those ‘somethings’ will be, you’ll have to come to Market Saturday
Speaking of pricing – if you have checked out meat prices at retail or locker plants lately you already know that our everyday pricing is extremely competitive. Many of our products are priced the same or lower, you know where the meat comes from and the families that produce it. It’s a win-win to shop with Marr’s Valley View Farms!
We are fully stocked with ground beef products and 6 varieties of bratwurst including our newest – the Packer Brat. Maybe if we sell more the Packers will play better! Ribeyes and New York Strips are in stock but don’t wait to get yours – we have a minimal quantity and they tend to fly out the door! Sorry but the King and Queen of steaks, Porterhouse and T-Bone, are sold out for the foreseeable future. Cooler nights have turned our taste buds toward roasts, soups and stews. We’ll bring our full line of Beef and Pork Roasts, Stew Meat, Soup Bones and Ham Hocks to Market for your favorite recipes.
If you are in need of a large quantity please place your order in advance. Send an email to marrsvvfmeats@gmail.com or call 608-574-2899 by 5 p.m. Friday and we will have your order ready for pick-up at the Market.
Hope we see you at the Market Saturday morning from 8:30 to 11:00. You will find us under the shelter at WaterTower Park.
All of us at Marr’s Valley View Farms.

Shooting Star Farm
Summer weather has returned, but the days are decidedly shorter. I’ve often thought “oh, I’ll go out after dinner and get that tilling done”, only to discover that it’s too dark! But summer weather continues. I’ll have a mix of summery and fall-ish crops for Saturday. Here’s what I hope to bring: A limited supply of lettuce heads, lots of colorful sweet bell and frying peppers including red and orange varieties, shishito peppers, hot jalapeno, poblano, and Anaheim peppers, tomatillos, red slicing tomatoes, roma tomatoes (lots of romas again this week!), heirloom, saladette, and cherry tomatoes, eggplant, delicata winter squash, red beets, celery, carrots, yellow onions, scallions, Swiss chard, a few salad turnips and radishes, parsley, sage, dill, arugula, salad mix, and maybe a few other odds and ends.
Remember you can preorder for Market pickup from 6pm Wednesday evening until 7pm Thursday. Order here. See you Saturday!
