Hello MP Market Goers!

Order of Odd Fellows Mineral Point Lodge
The Wisconsin Independent Order of Odd Fellows holds an annual raffle to help support the Wisconsin Odd Fellows Museum – located right here in Mineral Point. This Saturday we will have a table where raffle tickets can be purchased for $20 even. With the purchase of each ticket, one will have the chance(s) to win a cash prize everyday from November 1, 2021, through January 31, 2022, as the tickets are kept in the kitty for each daily drawing. Cash prizes vary from $50, $100, and $250, depending upon the calendar day.
The Mineral Point lodge, known as Iowa Lodge No. 1, is the first lodge west of the eastern US seaboard. It is an honor to have such a distinguished museum in the state and especially in Mineral Point, as there are only a handful of Odd Fellows Museums in the world. Please visit our table and consider purchasing a ticket or two to help fund you with some easily won pocket cash and help fund the museum at the same time. Also, if you are interested in joining let us know as we will have membership applications on hand. As with the future of the museum, we hope to continue our lodge in Mineral Point since its founding 186 years ago.

Marr’s Valley View Farm
Grilling weather is still holding on strong! It’s going to be another nice weekend so we’ve decided there’s no better time to put one or two ‘somethings’ on special for you, our cherished customers. Since we haven’t yet decided what those ‘somethings’ will be, you’ll have to come to Market Saturday
Speaking of pricing – if you have checked out meat prices at retail or locker plants lately you already know that our everyday pricing is extremely competitive. Many of our products are priced the same or lower, you know where the meat comes from and the families that produce it. It’s a win-win to shop with Marr’s Valley View Farms!
We are fully stocked with ground beef products and 6 varieties of bratwurst including our newest – the Packer Brat. Maybe if we sell more the Packers will play better! Ribeyes and New York Strips are in stock but don’t wait to get yours – we have a minimal quantity and they tend to fly out the door! Sorry but the King and Queen of steaks, Porterhouse and T-Bone, are sold out for the foreseeable future. Cooler nights have turned our taste buds toward roasts, soups and stews. We’ll bring our full line of Beef and Pork Roasts, Stew Meat, Soup Bones and Ham Hocks to Market for your favorite recipes.
If you are in need of a large quantity please place your order in advance. Send an email to marrsvvfmeats@gmail.com or call 608-574-2899 by 5 p.m. Friday and we will have your order ready for pick-up at the Market.
Hope we see you at the Market Saturday morning from 8:30 to 11:00. You will find us under the shelter at WaterTower Park.
All of us at Marr’s Valley View Farms.

Follow my Facebook page Scrappin with Joni to see some projects I am creating. Shooting Star Farm
The fall equinox has come and gone and a few mornings this week will require a knit cap rather than a sun hat. I’m welcoming the change of seasons. On another positive note, I got a full inch of rain Monday night, right after seeding and incorporating some cover crops. Great timing! Here’s what I hope to bring to Market this week: salad mix, arugula, spinach, colorful sweet bell and frying peppers, shishito peppers, hot jalapeno, poblano, and Anaheim peppers, roma tomatoes, heirloom, saladette, and cherry tomatoes, green beans, Kossak kohlrabi, delicata and honey nut winter squash, red beets, celery, carrots, yellow and red onions, shallots, scallions, Swiss chard, parsley, sage, dill, and possibly cauliflower and cabbage and a few other odds and ends. Remember you can preorder for Market pickup from 6pm Wednesday evening until 7pm Thursday. Order here. See you Saturday!
