Open Saturday, October 14th, 8:30-11am in Water Tower Park

Scroll down to view the complete list of who will be vending this week

Don’t let the weather stop you from grabbing what’s good at market Saturday 🙄☔

Unfortunately, the weather has messed with a few of our vendors’ plans to attend this week. Many have had killing frosts, such as our favorite flower vendor Barbara of Sweet Earth Gardens and some have products that just cannot stand to be out in the predicted moisture like FripperiesMP and their delicately, detailed drawings. But that won’t stop the market from happening!

In FACT… Who knew that this late in the season the market would have NEW offerings? We’re excited to announce the addition of both Madison Street Granola & NightShift Chocolate! Check out their booths Saturday for some new and tasty treats 😋!

Plus, be sure to visit all your regular vendors as you never know when it will be their last time attending for the season. Don’t miss out, grab your umbrella and your rain boots and head up to market Saturday! Stock up and savor the flavors of the Mineral Point Market.

Here is a partial list of items at this week’s market:

Beef, Pork, Chicken, Bacon, Brats, Burgers, Cheese, Sweet and Savory Baked Goods, Breakfast Wraps, Coffee, Granola, Chocolates, Garlic, Salad Mix, Sweet & Hot Peppers, Eggplants, Celery, Leeks, Scallions, Swiss Chard, Spinach, Lettuce Heads, Arugula, Kale, Cabbage, Winter Squash, Turnips, Radishes, Beets, Carrots, Potatoes, Onions, Shallots, Fresh Herbs, Fresh Eucalyptus Bunches, Fall Mums & House Plants, Goat Milk Soap & Shampoo Bars, Library Books, and much more. Come and check it all out!

We look forward to seeing you this Saturday in Water Tower Park, Business Hwy 151 at Madison Street, Mineral Point! 8:30 to 11:00 a.m.

Co-Manager
Mineral Point Market

A Note: October 21st is the last “official” market of the season. However, many vendors will continue to vend as long as the weather remains comfortable. Once the weather turns more wintry, vendors may move indoors depending on product availability. Stay tuned for more information.

Aaron’s Peppers

Aaron’s Peppers last appearance at the Mineral Point Market for the season was October 7. Wanted to share some information with those who may (unfortunately) experience chile pepper burn — caused by oil-like capsaisin (kap SAY sin) – but cannot tolerate dairy. I searched the internet and finally found the answer after contacting the Chile Pepper Institute (CPI) at New Mexico State University. It is the only international, non-profit organization
devoted to education and research related to capsicum or chile peppers. Established in 1992, the Institute builds on the research of chile peppers since the famous horticulturalist Fabian Garcia (the father of the U.S. chile pepper industry) began standardizing chile pepper varieties in 1888. “Dairy free capsaicin neutralizing options include consuming acidic foods like orange juice, lemonade, limeade, tomato juice, or vinegar.”
Hope that helps.

Just Poured Candle Co.

Hope to be back next season, thanks for a great year!  My name is Holly Adams, and I created Just Poured Candle Co. in 2022 with the support of my family and husband David, a Mineral Point native. Why? Well, I love candles and I love to make things. As a full-time caregiver for my husband, who suffered a C4 spinal cord injury and stroke in 2016, I found candle making as a creative outlet to help relieve everyday stress and fulfill a passion.
My mission is simple. Provide hand-crafted, non-toxic candles that add warmth and inspiration to any room. All my candles are made from 100% soy wax, from soybeans grown in the United States. I also do not use any dyes or additives, and only high-quality fragrance oils that do not contain parabens or phthalates. In addition to making candles, I make several other all natural products as well. Some of my other products include room sprays, bug & tick repellent, and lip balm.

* We will continue selling grass-fed lamb brats, grass-fed beef, honey, and raw wool from our farm by appointment.
* Our animals are grass-fed and grass-finished, which they graze lush pastures all summer and high quality stored forage in the winter. They live in a low-stress environment with livestock guardian dogs who keep predators away, and see the shepherd every day when he makes the rounds to check that they are still on prime pasture.

Preston Creek Soapery – Julia Sheppard – Mineral Point

Hope to be back next season, thanks for a great year! Preston Creek Soapery was founded in 2017 when I started to make handmade soap as a way to funnel my creative energy and calm my sensitive skin. I really enjoy formulating and making small batch vegan soap and shampoo bars, which progressed into making bath and foot soaks, bath bombs, whipped body butter and soap dishes. From day one on my soaping journey, as a vegetarian I chose to make vegan, palm free products. I use high quality skin loving ingredients such as oils, butters, coconut milk, clays, colloidal oatmeal and aloe. I live in Mineral Point with my husband Jeremy on our alpaca farm. Breeding and raising alpacas is a complete joy! In the future I hope to bring my alpaca yarn to the market.

Shooting Star Farm

The frost hit early Wednesday morning, leaving some dead weeds and rough looking pepper plants, but most vegetables are still alive and kicking. I’m planning to harvest a variety of sweet and hot peppers, some smaller eggplants (both Japanese and globe), carrots, beets, radishes, salad turnips, celery, leeks, scallions, Swiss chard, spinach, some small-ish lettuce heads, arugula, salad mix, green and red cabbage, and some fresh herbs (parsley, dill, thyme, and sage). Other items include onions (red and yellow), shallots, and winter squash (sunshine kabocha, delicata, and butternut this week). It’s going to be a wet few days leading up to Market, but we’re all hoping for a reprieve on Saturday, so see you there! You can pre-order for market pick-up at my website.

Sweet Earth Garden and Vintage China

Dear Market friends, Sweet Earth Gardens will not be at market this week. I had every intention of coming this week but after surviving 2 nights of near frost, last night was the death for my flowers (much to my surprise with the deeper frost last night). Much to my chagrin, it was a killer frost. I am very disappointed as this was to be my last market since I am retiring from growing flowers for market.
It has a wonderful experience to provide flowers for the Market; meeting, visiting and sharing tips with patrons. Thank you all so very much to my fellow vendors. It is a lovely group of folks who are dedicated to offering quality goods and foods. A special thanks to Lois, Kathy and Jenny for their hard work and excellent leadership. Our market would not exist without you. Thank you for all the support and encouragement- I hope I returned the favor as I was always so proud to be a part of this special market.
Farewell and warmest wishes to you all…. I will be back as a customer and will miss our Saturday mornings together.
My best wishes,
Barbara Manion-Platt
