Asparagus season has ended but we now have it pickled as well as in a frozen cream of asparagus soup. Farmers Daughter Kitchen and Bakery

It’s all about Dad, Grandpa, that favorite uncle, all around favorite fella in your life this weekend! Let’s get him celebrated with a Bar Box! An assortment of a baker’s dozen, 3″ by 3″, dessert bars, all boxed up and ready to hand to that special guy! Does he prefer all chocolate choices? We can do that. Sweet fruit? We can do that. All 1 flavor? We can even do that! Order a Bar Box by Noon on Friday. $23 per box.
Now, for the list. We will have our usual items as well. And, if you forget to order a Bar Box, don’t worry, we’ll have boxes with us to get you one made!

Grandview Garlic Farm

We are looking forward to vending, at the Mineral Point Farmers Market again this season. We will have 6 varieties of garlic this year. (Romanian Red, Persian Star, German Extra Harty, Georgian Fire, Elephant, and Northern White.) The garlic is usually cured and ready for sale about the first week in August. See you then.

King’s Hill Farm

Kings Hill will be at market this Saturday with our first cherry tomato harvest of the season! We’ll have a very limited amount so make sure to get there early and get a pint while they last.

We celebrate Dads this weekend. Do you have a card for dad? I will also have a selection of handmade cards perfect for dad at Market this weekend. I will also have a great selection of paper products; cards for all occasions, covered journals, book marks, gift card holders, etc. Sending a handmade card is a great way to say “I care”. Shooting Star Farm

Whew. It’s been a bit warm. But we know what that means – crops are growing! I have a few more items to add to this week’s list of goodies: Fennel bulb (with tops attached) and carrots (bunched with tops attached). Sounds like the start of a nice crudité platter. You can also add sliced raw kohlrabi (so yummy and fresh), red radishes (with a bit of kick), and salad turnips. Feel like cooking? I will have red beets along with multi-color beet bunches this week, curly and lacinato kale, Swiss chard, and possibly a few smaller napa cabbages. Salad is a staple in my house, and along with arugula and my standard salad mix, I’ll have heads of romaine and green butter lettuce, plus lots of gorgeous baby/mid-sized lettuces in a range of colors and textures. People have been asking about sugar snap peas, and they are getting close. It’s too soon to know if they’ll be ready to harvest on Friday, but maybe.? Next week for sure.
