25th Opening Day of the Mineral Point Market!

Scroll down to see individual vendor product offering for this week’s market

Well it’s not the start we would have imagined for our 25th opening day of the Mineral Point Market but we’re in this together and together we can keep our community safe and healthy!

Market begins this Saturday, May 2nd and is open from 8:30-11 am

Most of our vendors are offering the option to either shop the market or pre-order for curbside pickup at market. Be sure to scroll down to learn who will be at market this Saturday, what they’ll be vending, and how to purchase from them.

Remember, we’re in this together and the only way this market will stay a safe and healthy place is if we all take measures to protect each other.

Here are the steps we will be taking to ensure your safety while shopping at the market:

  • No sampling and onsite dining allowed
  • “non-essential” vendors will not be vending until the safer at home ordinance is lifted
  • additional space will be made between vendors to help ensure social distancing
  • market vendors will have 2 staff members; one for the bagging of items the other for the collection of payment.
  • vendors will wears masks and gloves
  • vendors will be sanitizing both their hands and tables frequently
  • many of our vendors will also be offering pre-order for pickup at market so if you don’t feel comfortable shopping the market all you’ll have to do is pre-order than the vendor will deliver your product to your vehicle when you arrive at market

How you can help:

  • Come to market in good health or pre-order for pickup
  • wear a mask and gloves if you are able
  • allow the vendors to select and bag your purchases
  • regulate your own social distancing

Here’s a map highlighting where curbside pickup will be taking place

We have a new online store at http://www.happyhunterfarms.com where you can order your goods easily and securely. Marr’s Valley View Farm

Welcome to the Mineral Point Market 2020 Season. To say it’s been an interesting ‘New Year’ is an understatement. We are all doing our best to navigate our way through the maze, stay safe, feel safe, enjoy life in this new space. Challenging times yes, but renewing times as well. The slowed pace, the lack of always having to go somewhere, do something, has harkened us back to times growing up of the farm. Life was simpler then. Perhaps it will be again.

PRE-ORDERS ONLY THIS WEEK – PLACE YOUR ORDER BY NOON ON FRIDAY
As we navigate through being out in public for the first time we will be selling only via pre-orders this week.
Placing your order by noon on Friday allows us time to process it, of course the earlier the better no need to wait until Friday to order.

Here’s how to order:
* e-mail your order to Mike at marr_michael@yahoo.com by noon Friday;
* specify product name and desired quantity in packages – example: 2 pkgs of Bone In Pork Chops;
* if you want a specific product size say so – example: 2.5 to 3 lb. Boneless Chuck Roast – otherwise we will pick for you;
* provide a phone number where you can be reached for questions;
* payment is by check made out to Valley View Farms;
* we will e-mail your order total Friday night by 10:00 p.m. so you can have your check ready;
* we will set up by the curb – you can drive/walk up and pick up your order and drop off your check for a quick transaction.

NOTE: With COVID 19 impacting the nations largest meat packing facilities customers have flocked to purchase our meat. As a result we are very limited in our quantities of Ground Beef items and a few Pork products. Please only purchase what you truly need, more is coming, we promise. We just need to catch up.

We are offering pick-up of our Meat CSA at market again this year with first pickup May 9th. E-mail Lois at lois.federman@gmail.com for details and how to sign up for your share(s).

See you soon – sounds like beautiful weather for the opening Market.

Shooting Star Farm

Thank you for all of your patience with all of us at market; we’re all in this together!
See you Saturday!

Hello Market Customers! Spring has arrived and so have the first few fresh vegetables. But we’ll be doing things differently this year. Kathy Bures has done a terrific job of informing customers and vendors about new procedures for our Market given the global health crisis. We want you to have access to fresh food, but to do so in a way that keeps us safe. I am encouraging customers to order products in advance for curbside pickup on Saturday from 8:30-11:00am. How will you order?
• Visit my website at www.shootingstarfarmwi.com . (it will go live late Wednesday)
• Select the “pre-order for Market” tab at the top and follow instructions.
• Ordering will begin on Thursday April 29th at 7am and continue through Friday May 1st at 7am, or until items sell out.
• You can chose to pay online with a credit card, or pay at pick-up with cash, check or charge.
• I ask that pre-orders amount to at least $12.00.
• Any extras will be available at the Market, so if you just need a few items, please stop by for a safe shopping experience.
I also want to remind everyone that although we’ve been experiencing lovely weather, it is still extremely early in the growing season and vegetables are limited! Everything is coming out of a hoophouse (except for spinach). Don’t be discouraged if items sell out. Plentiful harvests are on the way. Thanks so much! – Jenny
