Wisconsin Independent Order of Odd Fellows

The Wisconsin Independent Order of Odd Fellows holds an annual raffle to help support the Wisconsin Odd Fellows Museum – located right here in Mineral Point. This Saturday we will have a table at the market where raffle tickets can be purchased for $20. With the purchase of each ticket, one will have the chance(s) to win a cash prize everyday from November 1, 2022, through January 31, 2023, as the tickets are kept for each daily drawing. Cash prizes vary from $50, $100, and $250, depending upon the calendar day.
The Mineral Point lodge, known as Iowa Lodge No. 1, is the first lodge west of the eastern US seaboard. It is an honor to have such a distinguished museum in the state and especially in Mineral Point, as there are only a handful of Odd Fellows Museums in the world. Please visit our table and consider purchasing a ticket or two to help fund you with some easily won pocket cash and help fund the museum at the same time. Also, if you are interested in joining let us know as we will have membership applications on hand. As with the future of the museum, we hope to continue our lodge in Mineral Point since its founding 187 years ago.

Bures Berry Patch

We’re marching through the seasons at the Patch and we are now well into potato season! Baby reds are coming out of the ground fresh each week and we’ve started to dig the German Butterballs (a delicious, golden small potato with incredible flavor)! Plus, it’s green bean season! Yumm! Too keep the heat out of the kitchen, try both the potatoes and the beans on the grill! We continue to get rave reviews on our pickled asparagus and our frozen cream of asparagus soup, but we anticipate being sold out of both within the month. Don’t miss out, when they’re gone…they’re gone. Also on our table this week will be; farm fresh eggs, locally produced jam, & pure honey! Can’t make it to market? We’re open at the Patch. For more information, head to our website. Hope to see you Saturday or in the Patch soon! Farmer Kathy and Farmer Ed

Shooting Star Farm

It’s hard to believe how quickly July is flying by! Mother Nature helped me water last week, and looks like another round this weekend – but not until Market ends, so come on out! A few new items this week include green cabbage, broccoli, bunched fresh white onions, and fresh garlic. Onions and garlic are not cured, so they can be stored in the frig or at cool room temperature (remove onion tops first and store in the frig). Also this week: green beans, cucumbers (2 types), zucchini and summer squash, sweet bell and Italian frying peppers, kale, Swiss chard, baby lettuces, arugula, salad mix, beets (red, white, gold, and pink), scallions, dill, basil, and possibly some cilantro. Tomatoes aren’t coming in as fast as I’d like (might have something to do with that half-covered hoophouse…). But I will have a smattering of red, heirloom, and cherry types. You can pre-order for Market or farm pick-up here. Ordering window is from 6pm Wednesday through 6pm Thursday. Thanks, and see you Saturday!

Spensley Farm

We’ll have some time off from the market and will return on August 27! In the meantime, if you’d like to place a special order, please reach out to connect@spensleyfarm.com. Enjoy the summer months. Nicole & Steve Bujewski – Spensley Farm – Mineral Point
