6/5/21 – Week 6

Scroll Down for a complete list of who will be vending this week

Hello MP Market Goers!

Thank you for supporting your local producers! Did you know that currently all our vendors produce within 30 miles of Mineral Point?! Amazing right?!

As many of you know eating fresh and local can be much tastier, easier on the wallet, healthier, and better for the animals. Whether it’s eating varieties of fruit and veggies that are develop for flavor not shipping ability, or the fact that items at market tend to last longer in your fridge so there’s less spoilage, there’s also the fact that local meats are often leaner and healthier for you, or that the animals are cared for in a much more humane way, shopping your local market has many great advantages. Not to mention that in doing so you get to personally know your producer.

From our local fruit, veggie, & flower growers, to our local beef, pork, & poultry raisers, to our local cheese and artisan producers we thank you for shopping local and supporting our businesses.

Still not comfortable shopping the market or just want to stay in bed a bit longer? Many of our vendors are continuing to offer pre-order options this season.
👉 Be sure to scroll down for vendor specific instructions on pre-ordering their products.
🦺 For more information on our Covid safety precautions, pre-ordering, and curbside pickup visit our covid safety page.

It’s our 26th season of the Mineral Point Market and we love that the market is a place for the community to gather where we can share with you the great local products our vendors have created, grown, and raised for you and your family.

Here is a partial list of items at this week’s market:

Hey there marketgoers!! Thank you so much for your support of all of us throughout the first month of the 2021 market season! We’re already into JUNE!! And, some things that include June: Dairy Month, The Start of Summer (The Summer Solstice), Father’s Day.
Some local events happening in June are: Browntown Summerfest and Fireman’s Fish Boil (this fish boil is absolutely the best!!). Argyle Fireman’s Fish Fry. Lafayette County Dairy Breakfast (Highway Dairy Farms, Highway 23).
I know there are many more local events happening, and these are just a few! We’ll be keeping you updated as the events keep rolling onto the calendar! Oh – it’s also Softball and t-ball season here at the Kammes house! Ok, enough chatter! Hopefully we’ll see you this weekend for some good eats, good conversation – AND – maybe a hug or two with the social distancing mandated being lifted!! We’ve loved seeing you all smile with you eyes and we can’t wait to see you smile with you actual smiles!

I will not be at the market this weekend as we will be moving to our new home just outside of Mineral Point. I hope to be back at the market later this month. If you have seen any of my photos on Facebook and would like a print or cards made, please feel free to email me at magiclightphotography@gmail.com and let me know what you would like. You can check out some of my latest work at https://www.facebook.com/mlp.michaeljsmith. My work does not handle moisture well, so my market schedule may change depending on the weather. Hope to see you this Saturday!

Shooting Star Farm
Did you get frost Friday night? My low-lying areas got a bit nipped, but all my plants survived with little damage. Hope your home gardens were fine as well. Produce for this week looks much like last week with a few changes. The featured lettuce this Saturday is romaine. Big, beautiful heads with nice hearts. Yes, it’s a lot of lettuce, but is will hold up well and who doesn’t love a good Caesar salad (or three)? I’ll have lots of smaller, tasty heads as well. Other items include salad mix, baby arugula, bunched red beets, a limited amount of bunched turnips (from the field and still mild and juicy), spinach, kale, kohlrabi, Swiss chard, red radishes, cilantro, dill, oregano, and sage. Want to sleep in a bit? You can pre-order produce for market pickup by visiting my website here. (minimum $10.00 order, please). We will continue to pack orders using a liner bag unless you let us know you prefer to transfer items into your own bags. See order page for more info. It’s going to be a warm and beautiful morning at Market. See you Saturday!

Spensley Farm

In the meantime, please contact us for special orders, for pickup or delivery to the Mineral Point area – thank you for your support.
