Spicy Rapid Roast Chicken Springtime always gets me looking for new recipes. Either because I’m looking for something quick and easy or I’m just tired of everything I’ve been cooking all winter long, who knows. This spring is no different. And this week it’s a whole chicken roasted. James’ Pine Valley Farm offers all different cuts of chicken including whole! Their chicken are tender, juicy, and delicious but be sure to pre-order because like several other vendors they’re only selling by pre-order for market pickup currently. Don’t miss out!

Most of our vendors are offering the option to either shop the market or pre-order for curbside pickup at market. Be sure to scroll down to learn who will be at market this Saturday, what they’ll be vending, and how to purchase from them.

This market will stay a safe and healthy place to shop if we all take measures to protect each other. Check out our covid safety measures to learn more. Remember, we’re in this together!

Here’s a map highlighting where curbside pickup will be taking place

To make curbside pickup even easier, please have a sign on your rear passenger side window with your FIRST and LAST name + the farms you ordered from.

Here is a partial list of items at this week’s market:

Beef, Pork, Bacon, Poultry, Cheese, Eggs, Boy Choy, Salad Mix, Arugula, Green Garlic, Cilantro, Dill, Radishes, Salad Turnips, Lettuce Heads, Maple Syrup, Honey, Sweet Bread, Scones, Muffins, Cookies, Bars,  Breakfast Burritos, Artisan Bread, Coffee, Sweet and Savory Baked Goods, Jams, Soaps, and much more. Bures Berry Patch

It was so nice to have asparagus last weekend! Unfortunately, we’ve had several freezes this week and that has put a halt to asparagus growth. We’re crossing our fingers though that we will be able to harvest Thursday and/or Friday. Bures Berry Patch is happy to be bringing you fresh, local, and safe products for you and your family’s dinner table. We will have pure, local honey and Wisconsin maple syrup this Saturday. We will know more about asparagus Thursday evening. Sorry no eggs this week; our chickies can’t keep up.

You can get any of our available items either by shopping our stand at market or by ordering curbside pickup. If you are choosing to pre-order be sure to select the Mineral Point Market as your pickup location at checkout. Want to pay by check or exact change at pickup? Enter coupon code PayatPickup! Pre-order is available from Wednesday at 9 pm through 9 pm Friday (or until sold out) to ensure we have everything ready for you to pickup at market.

Shooting Star Farm

The frosty weather didn’t keep anyone away last week. Thanks again for the overwhelming support of my farm and the other vendors at the Mineral Point Market this season. If I could go back in time with the knowledge of our current reality, I would have planted more of everything. The demand has been incredible. I sincerely apologize to those who haven’t been able to get product. It is still very early in the harvest season, and I will be swimming in lettuce and kale soon! Items for this week are similar to last: boy choy, salad mix, arugula, red and French breakfast radishes, green garlic, salad turnips, lots of baby/medium lettuce heads from the hoophouse, and possibly some cilantro and dill. My second spinach planting is growing at a snail’s pace, so another week without spinach. Tomato and basil transplants will also be available for pre-order and for sale at the Market stand. See below for ordering details:
1. Pre-ordering for Market pick-up is available from Wednesday at 6pm through Thursday at 7pm or until sell-out at my website:
2. You can pay with credit/debit, cash or check. Paying in advance with a card is preferred since the order system requires some extra manual attention with cash/check orders. But if you’re a cash person, that is fine, too.
3. If you need just a few items, my Market table will be stocked with some of everything, but in much smaller amounts than in the past. Please arrive between 8:30 – 9:30 for best supply.
